CGYBA Information


League Information:

  • CGYBA is comprised of two (2) divisions - a 3rd/4th Grade (3G/4G) Division & a 5th/6th Grade (5G/6G) Division.

  • The 3G/4G Division will challenge girls with game play while focusing on fundamentals & team play.

  • The 5G/6G Division increases in competition by working on more comprehensive aspects of basketball development (i.e. offensive strategies, full-court pressing & more in-depth man-to-man defense).

Travel Team Information:

  • CGYBA 6th Grade (6G) Travel Team competes in the Big Spring Travel Basketball League.

  • The 6G Travel Team focuses on strong basketball development as well as sportsmanship, confidence building & positive youth development.

  • If selected, players will be ineligible to play for the CGYBA 5G/6G Division for the 2017-2018 season.

Season Information:

  • The CGYBA season runs from the beginning of December to the end of February.

  • Practices are scheduled twice a week (typically Tuesdays & Thursdays) at the teams' elementary schools or other locations around the Carlisle area.  Practices are 1½ hours long.

  • Games are scheduled for Saturdays & will be held at Lamberton Middle School.  Games are usually one (1) hour long.  Double-header games may be possible based on team schedules.

  • During the season, the Carlisle High School Girls Basketball team will host youth appreciation nights during select home varsity games.  CGYBA players will have the opportunity to support the team & be recognized.

  • Individual & team photos are planned & will be taken for each CGYBA team.

  • The 3G/4G Division has an end-of-year skills challenge.

  • The 5G/6G Division has an end-of-year double-elimination tournament.

  • CGYBA holds an end-of-year social for each team to celebrate the season & recognize top performers.

Additional Information:

  • After the season has concluded, the 5th & 6th Grade girls will have the opportunity for to try out for spring travel teams.

  • The CGYBA has a board of directors who are volunteers. We welcome other volunteers as coaches, referees, scorekeepers, team parents & other roles within the league.
