What We are All About.

The Wizards wrestling club is a Crystal Lake Park District affiliated program registered through the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF). In 2014, we have completed our 34th season milestone as one of the premier youth wrestling organizations in the country. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for kids ages 5 to 14 from the Crystal Lake community and surrounding areas. Each year we have 120-155 wrestlers with varying skill level.  We train accordingly; from beginning fundamentals of wrestling, to advanced technique needed to compete at the highest levels. Our main goal is to introduce wrestling in a competitive but fun environment and to foster a young wrestler's potential through serious commitment. Nearly every year we produce state qualifiers and state placers.  Many successfully transition from their Wizard experience to high school and college wrestling.  Our method and style of coaching has also helped these young wrestlers realize the importance of an education, teamwork, respect and perseverance, which they then take with them throughout life.

CLW wrestling is a non-profit 501 c3 youth sports organization run 100% by volunteers. In order to ensure a successful program for the youth of our community, we rely on local businesses to provide sponsorship and help underwrite the cost of the program.

Our Beliefs.
  • Safety is our most important priority

  • Members of the team are students first and athletes second

  • Club wrestling will better prepare a wrestler for the competition of high school wrestling compared to other youth wrestling options

  • Sportsmanship is EXPECTED out of all Wizard wrestlers and coaches

  • A wrestler that does not follow team rules may be disciplined, especially if they are a risk to themselves or their teammates
