- Teams must have eight on the field at the start of the game and end of the game. There is a 15 minute grace period (part of the total game time).

- Ending the Game: All games consist of 7 innings and have a 1 hour 45 minute time limit (except Instructional divisions). Any game ending after 4 innings (3 ½ if the home team is ahead) or as a result of the time limit is a complete game. A game is also complete if it is called on account of weather or other reasons and 1 hour 15 minutes of play has been completed, regardless of the inning. If a game ends in the middle of an inning due to weather, time limit, etc., the final score reverts to the last completed inning. Exception: if the home team is at bat, is ahead or tied, and any lead they may have had did not decrease during the inning, the ending score is used. Also if the losing team is down more runs than allowed per inning the game will be call when the time limit expires.
- Injured players that leave the game are not recorded as outs when their turn to bat arrives. Ejected players are recorded outs when their turn to bat arrives the first time only.
- Teams bat their roster. Players arriving after the start of the game are placed at the bottom of the lineup.
