Fees - Updated 2012

November 7, 2012

Updated

We have not raised our registration fees in over 7 years. We understand today's financial situation and are doing our best to keep our program affordable for our children. We want the children to be able to enjoy the sport of basketball.

These are 2 good questions:

1 - Why are the fees so “high”?

2 - Why are the fees different for Clinic and grades 3-8?

These are good questions and here are the explanations:

First, we are doing all we can to keep the registration fees as low as possible. We have not raised the registration fees: Clinic - $50 and upper levels $75.00, for a few years now.

We have compared our fees to other local communities and have found that we are the lowest or near the lowest in our surroundng area.

A few years back, due to the comments of many parents, we did away with all fund raisers. The only one we have for the entire sports program is the annual beef steak usually at the end of January. When we did away with the fund raising for each sport, it was agreed that the registration fee would have to be increased to make up for the lost revenue. Most parents were in agreement with that.

Next, why clinic and the upper levels have different costs?

The Clinic division has no referees and only takes place one day a week.

Grades 3-8 play games, usually 10-15, which require 1-2 referees depending on the level. Also these upper levels will have a playoff tournament, all teams make the playoffs. This means each team will play at least one more game. The first and second place team members, at each division, receive a trophy.

Also we sponsor a “Skills Competition”, free throw and 3-point shooting competition for each division (3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade) before the championship game and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each skill get a trophy.

The Clinic divisions get to keep their “uniforms”, a T-Shirt, and then enjoy a “pizza party” at the conclusion of the season.
