Q: What league does the NYBA place their teams in?
A: NYBA enters all of their teams in the South Central Mass Youth Basketball League (SCMYBL) This league has been running for over 20 years and Northbridge teams have been entered in the last 15 years plus.
Other fees or cost
Q: Are there any other fees/costs other than the registration fee?
A: Yes, SCMYBL has an entrance fee for all games. The fee is $3 per adult at games. This fee helps the organization who is hosting games that weekend with the costs associated to opening their gym(s). This is a league-wide rule & not anyone's indivdual program's rule. Coaches, players & children are free of charge.
Number of Travel Teams per Grade
Q: How many teams will NYBA enter into SCMYBL for each grade level?
A: It will depend on the number of players that turnout for each age group. NYBA will do its best to put as many teams as possible but its not a guaranteed.
Tryouts
Q: What should parents and players expect during tryouts?
A:Players will be assessed on the following skills: dribbling, passing, shooting and overall athelticism...Players do not need to bring their own basketball as we will have them...Players should wear appropriate footwear (basketball shoes or sneakers). 2017/2018 Travel Team Cost
Q: What is the cost per player for travel team play?
A: The cost per player for the 2017/2018 NYBA travel teams is $180 if you need a Uniform and $150 if you don't. Sibling discounts are available. Please ask you coach or contact a Board Member.
