What/Who is NOVA Juniors?

Welcome to the official site of the Northern Ohio Volleyball Association!

NOVA Juniors is a youth volleyball club which dates back to the late 1970s originally started by volleyball coaching legend Bob MacFarland and Tom Smith.  Starting as a men's team (consisting of Doug Sherer and Jim Park to name a couple), NOVA became NOVA Juniors when they became the first OVR team that was made of junior girls.  They went on to win the AAU National Championship in 1981. For many years NOVA was ahead of the times when it came to club volleyball.  NOVA developed some of the best volleyball players ever to come through this area, sending dozens and dozens to state championships, college careers, and even coaching careers!

The greatest thing about NOVA was VOLLEYBALL was the one and only goal, it was such a pure time in the sport.

Bringing NOVA Juniors back, we are hoping to bring that incredible feeling back!

Corey Verchio, Head Coach at Solon High School, currently serves as the Director of Volleyball for NOVA Juniors. The Board of Directors & staff that is full with years and years of coaching experience that consists of not only great volleyball coaches, but great people such as Scott Nickol (Assistant Director),  Bob MacFarland, Jeff Walck, and Doug Sherer just to name a few.

NOVA Juniors home court is newly renovated Goodyear Hall, a 20,000 square foot facility, with 1,200 seats surrounding the courts from above, making the viewing and playing experience unlike any other!

NOVA Juniors not only consists of travel teams competing, but also will act as host to many OVR Tournaments, summer clinics, youth volleyball leagues, and much more!
