How can I help?  There are many ways for parents to help.  OLC is run by a small group of volunteers.  We invite you to join us for a memorable experience, assuring a great season for our kids.  We are in need of someone to line the fields each week.  For each home game, we need help preparing and cleaning up the field (filling holes, picking up dog poop, setting out cones) as well as a time keeper and score keeper.  We also need videographers for each game and a team manager for each team.  If you are interested, please let the Club Manager know.

What are my responsibilities as a parent?  You are responsible for getting your child to practices, games, and other team functions on time (for games, this often means at least 45 minutes prior to game time) and picking up your child promptly afterwards.  The players like to have snacks after the game; each player will be assigned a game to provide snacks and drink.  Players also will need help in maintaining their gear in working order (i.e. periodic washing).

Are there any fundraisers during the season?  Our club has one (1) fundraiser each season.  Each player is expected to participate.  The funds help us to keep our players in functional gear and provide our coaches with the equipment they need to run practices and games.

When will game schedules be available?  Game schedules are published on a monthly basis.  Schedules are typically published a week prior to the first game of the month and can be found at www.sdcla.org.  After each month of games, the seeding for each team is re-evaluated and adjustments are made in the schedule for the next month based on changes in the team seeding.

What is required to be a team manager?  Our team managers work together as a team.  One will manage the communication to all club parents.  As our games can sometimes have teams going in different directions, the team manager helps to ensure that the coach and players have what they need for the game, answer parent questions, help clean up after the game.  We also make sure that there is at least one (1) team manager present at all practices.

Will practices or games be held in the rain?  Because we use school fields, if it has rained or is raining, the schools will close the fields to prevent damage.  If it is a home game, the game will be cancelled.  Most of our away games are played on turf fields and the games will be played as scheduled.  If practices are to be cancelled, notification will be sent out by 2pm via email.

Will there be any changes to the practice schedule during spring break?  As our teams are composed of players from several different school districts whose spring break weeks do not coincide, there will be no change to the practice schedule or game schedule during your player's spring break.  We will not be having games on Easter weekend.

I would like to sponsor or donate to my child’s team.  Who do I contact?  Oceanside Lacrosse Club is a Non-profit  501 (c)(3).  Donations can be made on our club website.
