Small town to big time: Consaul develops into ‘ace’

Though the transition was made easier by Consaul’s time with the Lady Lions, the jump to college ball was still a large one. Unlike the lineups she’d seen in her previous years on the bump, the lineups at the college level rarely feature any weak spots, which places an even larger emphasis on pitch selection and finesse, something that her battery-mate, sophomore Bethany DeMarco, works on with Consaul in practice.

Click on the linked article headline above for the complete article on Jen. Everyone with the Lady Lions are so proud of you. You are a role model for all future Lady Lions!

Former Rochester Lady Lion - Michelle Olivieri named American East Rookie of the Week

Boston-UMBC junior first baseman Melanie Denischuk (Poway, Calif./Hugh Sutherland (Carstairs, Alberta)/Indian River CC/Auburn) was named America East Co-Player of the Week and freshman outfielder Michelle Olivieri (Brockport, N.Y./The Aquinas Institute) was tabbed Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 9, the league announced Monday.

Olivieri batted .667 (6-for-9) with three home runs and six RBI in four games last week, ranking second on the team with 15 total bases and a 1.667 slugging percentage. She also walked twice for a .727 on-base percentage. She went 1-for-2 with three runs scored in the first game of the Georgetown doubleheader, then hit two home runs in the same inning in the nightcap. She was 3-for-3 with four RBI in that game. Her third homer of the week came in the second game of the doubleheader against Albany, a two-run shot in the fourth inning that gave the Retrievers a 5-2 lead. She went 2-for-4 in the game.
