The Spartans are a proud member of the Texas Youth Football Association,
one of the fastest growing Leagues in Texas.

We offer Football for ages 4-11 in the city of Kirby and the surrounding areas.
We have been working with families in different capacities for the last six seasons and
are in the process of building good young men and woman who will one day
make a difference in our community

The organization was founded in 2011 by someone that saw a need and an opportunity
to bring a quality tackle football  program to our kids in Kirby and the
surrounding areas. The founder wanted to create a fun experience for kids that
allowed both boys and girls to learn critical football skills and engage in a well
rounded fitness development program while teaching discipline and life skills.

The success of this organization is attributed to non-profit operations,
consistent fundraising efforts, effective collaboration with volunteer parents and coaches, commitment to the TSFA mission statement and a consistent desire to improve.

Mission
The purpose of the Spartans is to coach, teach, train, motivate and to provide the youth of Kirby and surrounding areas, regardless of race, religion or creed, the opportunity to participate in a controlled athletic competition and to instill: good sportsmanship, discipline, value of fair play and good conduct.

Perspective
The Spartans Organization hope is to develop respectful, confident, mentally plus physically stronger, fundamentally prepared ultimate young athletes, consistently welcomed by middle and high school programs because of the level of training and development they will receive from the Spartans.

 TYFA Football Programs

A TYFA year is split into 2 seasons. Spring is for fun and Fall is very competitive.

Each is mutually exclusive of the other.

TYFA has 2 levels of play in football:

  • Division 1 which is equivalent to (5A) in high school
  • Division 2 which is equivalent to (4A) in high school

In the Football Program there are 4 eligible age brackets all of which may compete

  • Flag (4-5 year olds only) Spring/Fall
  • Midgets (6-7 year olds only) Spring/Fall
  • Rookies (8-9 year olds) Spring/Fall
  • Juniors (10-11 year olds) Spring/Fall
  • Seniors (12-13 year olds) Spring

INFO:

  • Football is available for both Boys and Girls with no discrimination against their size or weight.
  • In the Spring there are 6 regular season games and a Bowl weekend. In the Fall each team plays 8 regular season games and if they qualify, up to 4 or 5 playoff games ending in a State Championship.
  • There are roster limits for both Spring and Fall.
  • Spring games normally last an hour and Fall games last nearly 2 hours.
  • In the Spring/Fall there may be travel between a major city and the surrounding towns.
  • Most organizations charge a gate fee which is used to pay for the referees and or help pay for the facility.
  • Playoffs (Fall only) are like high school in that they are cross regional (teams may travel all over Texas to play games).
