***RULE CHANGE***

Effective January 15, 2012:
According to United States Soccer Federation Rules for Indoor Soccer
the proper procedure for a three line pass is as follows:

11.1 THREE LINE PASS: If a player, including the goalkeeper, plays
the ball over three lines (two yellow lines and a halfway line) in
the air towards his opponent's goal line, without it touching
another player, the perimeter wall or a referee on the field of
play between the yellow lines, the referee shall award a free kick
to the opposing team at shootout mark of the first yellow line that
the ball crossed.

Traditionally in the Y-Zone indoor soccer leagues when a three line
pass occurred the non-offending team would receive a free kick on
their own defensive zone line. With the new rule change the
non-offending team will now receive a free kick at their offensive
zone line or penalty kick line.
