Spring 2010 Travel Baseball Tryouts
Tryouts for the Spring 2010 BAA Travel Baseball Teams will be conducted in late October for several BAA travel teams. For more information, click on the travel team (to the left on the menu board) for your age group.
Tryouts for the U12 MCBA Travel Team for the Spring 2010 season will be Saturday November 7th at 2pm at Columbia Park #1. Please bring bat glove and a great attitude!! Travel Team Policies and Tryouts
UPDATED FOR SPRING 2010 SEASON
BAA will be having tryouts for 2010 Spring Select Travel teams in late October/early November. Check the links on the left for age group specific information including dates and times of tryouts.
These are Select Travel teams that will represent BAA in a more competitive setting. Opposing teams will be Select teams from neighboring Athletic Associations in Montgomery County, MD and beyond.
In order to set players' expectations appropriately, we will be looking for the most qualified players in each division to represent BAA, to insure we field competitive teams in the Montgomery County Baseball Association (MCBA) & Mid Atlantic Basball Association (MABA). Players chosen will participate in late winter training beginning in January or February 2010, play league games starting in April, followed by a playoff series in June. The Select Travel teams also play in some form of tournament play during the Spring and Summer. Players will be expected to be at all practices and games. There will be no guarantees of playing time in games. It should be noted that Select Travel team play is not generally compatible with other activities/sports and should be considered a full time commitment due to the heavy schedule demands. Our teams must have priority to ensure a competitive program.
Our teams will play against very talented players in the MCBA and MABA leagues and can expect to grow accordingly in baseball skills. We will be evaluating fundamental baseball skills, situational playing skills, focus, attitude, discipline and team playing skills. Players selected may be asked to participate in an indoor Winter training program (January - March), at an additional cost. In addition, player's costs for the Spring registration will include an additional Select Travel fee.
Anyone is eligible to tryout for our Select Travel teams representing BAA. Select Travel Team eligibility is based on birthdates as follows:
9U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/00.
10U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/99.
11U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/98.
12U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/97.
13U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/96.
14U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/95.
18U - All participants must have been born on or after 5/01/94.
