Jim Driving Hawk
The current director, Jim Driving Hawk, has been involved in coaching baseball since 1988. During this time he has been a successful coach at the youth level. Coach Driving Hawk was one of the original coaches of the ARIZONA FINEST back in the 80's with Brent Foshie. As a youth coach, Jim has coached on 2 state championship teams and won several league and local tournaments. In addition, Jim was director of a travel team program that won several tournaments at different age levels. Coach Driving Hawk has also coached varsity and junior varsity at High School levels. From 1997-1998 Jim was Assistant head Baseball Coach at Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin. Having coached at the high school and college levels, Coach Driving Hawk has seen how beneficial a program like this can be to players who want to compete at a high level of baseball. Coach Driving Hawk has always said,"playing competitive baseball will teach players to play good fundamental baseball and give them a better understanding of the game". When a player goes into a high school or college program with tournament baseball expierence they are better able to adjust to baseball at that level and have better knowledge and comprehension of the game. It is the goal of the ARIZONA FINEST BASEBALL CLUB to offer this type of experience. Coach Driving Hawk is a current member of the Arizona High School Baseball Coaches Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association. In addition, Coach Driving Hawk is a certified instructor and member of the National Youth Sports Coaches Association.
Dan Lopez
Mr.Dan Lopez brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the ARIZONA FINEST BASEBALL CLUB. Coach Lopez has coached in the Little League Association, Pony Baseball and in the Babe Ruth organization. With his experience, Coach Lopez has developed a great understanding of fundamental baseball and has seen how a program like the ARIZONA FINEST can help in player development, both on and off the field. In addition to his coaching experience, Coach Lopez has held several positions with local baseball organizations and knows how to successfully manage this type of program. Coach Lopez is a certified instructor and member of the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and current member of the American Baseball Coaches Associaton.
