    2006 Rookie "Bayview" Astros
Here is one of our Rookie teams which is 7 & 8 year old boys and girls. This division enables the kids to prepare for making the next step to participating on travel teams. The "Bayview" Astros were managed by Mike Trudden

Local kid receives a once in a lifetime experience.
Long time little league participant, Steven Trudden attended an advanced pitching camp for high school aged players at the Frozen Ropes Training Facility in Garden City. The camp was run by one of the best pitching coaches in the MLB, Rick Peterson of the N.Y. Mets. Check out the photos on the websites photo album.

The 2006 " Wave" Orioles Team
Pictured here is the "The Wave" Orioles, 2006 JR/T-Ball Team. The team was comprised of 3 & 4 year old children. This division enables the children not only to participate in playing tee ball, but most importantly to familiarize themselves to working as a team. The children at this age will begin to build character and respect for themselves and others. The team was managed by John Blake.

    OPENING DAY PARADE
    April 28, 2007 - 11:30 AM --   The BCAC/JBLL kicks off the “2007-Season” with a Parade!

The Broad Channel Athletic Club/Jamaica Bay Little League kicked off their “2007- Season” with a parade on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Thankfully, “Mother-Nature” cooperated and kept the day dry and not too cold! The parade consisted of players, coaches, league officials, parents & family, and honored guests. The color guard for the event was provided by the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department, under the direction of Chief Dan McIntyre. This years Honorary Parade Grand Marshal was Joel Miele who is a founder of the BCAC/JBLL. He was instrumental in forming the league back in “2000”, and affiliating it with Little League Baseball, Inc. He also continues to be a mentor and friend to all who are involved with the league, and continues to be actively involved.
The parade consisted of players and coaches from all the teams in the league. T-Ball Division: Mangan’s Marauders, The Peninsula Hospital Yankees, The Wave Mets, and The Kiwanis Orioles. Farm Division: The Ira Judelson Astros, The Shogun 1 Reds, The Breezy Lumber Mets, and Century 21 Channel Realty Yankees. Rookie Division: The Frozen Ropes Marlins and The Lisena Landscaping Athletics. CYO/Baseball Division: Sub-Novice, Novice, Rookie, & Cadet “Shamrocks” sponsored by Sports Depot, Channel Oil Inc, Brookville Mortgage Inc, and Miele Associates Inc. CYO/Softball Division: Sub-Novice, Bantam, Intermediate, & Junior “Shamrocks” sponsored by The All American Deli, The Bayview Restaurant, The Bay-Gull Store, and Hillenbrand’s Funeral Home.
The event was preceded by a short ceremony at the BCAC Memorial Field. Father John Maloney from St. Virgilius Church opened the ceremony with a beautiful prayer and then graciously blessed the field and the players! Our “Great” country was honored by the playing of our national anthem. We had trouble getting the Air Force to do a fly over, so we had to settle for the “747” from JFK. A plaque was presented to the VFW Post#260 for its support of the league. This year “Sponsor of the Year” was awarded to the Bay-Gull Store. The ceremony concluded with a plaque presentation to our “Honorary Grand Marshal” Joel Miele, who followed with a ceremonial first pitch strike!
The BCAC/JBLL would just like to again congratulate and thank those who were formerly recognized. We also want to thank the 100th Precinct officers and Auxiliary for keeping the parade participants safe during the procession. And also give a big “Thank You” to all of our sponsors, coaches, players and families supporting our league. Let’s PLAY BALL! And most of all HAVE FUN!

    By,
    Jim Trudden

    Deputy Grand Marshal-Marty Feeney
On Saturday, March 3, 2007, Our own Marty Feeney was honored for his dedicated service to the Broad Channel community. Marty was chosen to be a Deputy Grand Marshal for the annual Rockaway St. Patrick's Day Parade. Marty is the founder of the Jamaica Bay Little League. The day started off with nice weather but towards the end became a little cool. We would like to "Thank" those who marched with the BCAC. **We also were awarded a "1st Place Trophy" by the parade committee. Again we would like to congratulate Marty!
