Our season is rapidly drawing to a close and I just want to update you on the last few events you should be aware of:
We will have only two more practices (1/31 and 2/7)
On SUNDAY, February 5, we will host the Middle School Mass. Sectional Championships at Chelmsford High School. This is not a tournament for the K-2 group but it is another big fund raiser for us and we are still looking for volunteers who want to help out. Our greatest need is in staffing the snack shack. The revenue from these events goes to things like uniforms, mats, and our year end jamboree (see below). Having this extra cash really helps us enhance the experience for our kids and keeps us a top notch program. If you can spare us a few hours in the snack shack please get in touch with Lisa Vecchione (lisavecc@yahoo.com). If you’d like to help out in any other way, like gym set up, etc., you can talk to me after practice.
We will have our end of year wrestling jamboree on THURSDAY, February 9, at the Parker School. Our group will not be wrestling that night but the older group will probably be doing an intra-squad scrimmage or some other sort of wrestling demonstration. This will be followed by pizza in the cafeteria and some season ending words from our coaching staff. It’s always a lot of fun and I hope you all can attend.
The Mass. State tournament for the K-4 group will be held at Salem High School on SUNDAY, February 12. This will be the last opportunity for our kids to participate in a tournament this season. K-2 Flight
On-line Registration & Payment ONLY by midnight February 10th, 2012. No exceptions, no walk ins.
$20 Tournament fee plus applicable online registration fees
Honor System Weigh In. If a wrestler is challenged by tournament organizers and wrestler is not within 3lbs of registered weight the wrestler will be out of tournament.
Madison 5 Man Round Robin (4 matches), whenever possible
Teammates will be separated as best as possible
Grouped by Weight, Age & Experience (in this order)
Open to all Massachusetts K-2 Wrestlers, Born between 9/1/2003-2006
Singlets Optional, can Wrestle in Shorts and Tucked in Shirt. Headgear and Shoes (no stocking feet) required
Impressive Trophy for 1st, medals for 2nd, 3rd & 4th, Ribbon for 5th
Skin/Nail Check In from 6:30am-7:45am on 2/12 @ Salem High. Must be checked before you can wrestle!!!!!
Wrestling will start at 8:00am SHARP!!
