Reg & Evaluation Info
Notes:
1. All players 7-12 who wish to play Division 1, Minors, or Majors, should attend evaluations for 2010 placement, unless they played on a Majors or Babe Ruth in 2009.
2. November 30th 2009 is the registration/payment deadline for all ages 5-15. All kindergarten age children should be prepared to play on a T-ball team. Rookie (coach pitch) starts at 1st grade.
3. Many families don't know this far in advance whether their child will be able to work baseball into their busy schedule. When in doubt, register your child. Full refunds are available upon request through February 15th, 2010.
4. Many adult volunteers are needed to run a successful program, and a variety of talents are needed. Parents will be expected to work the concession stand during home games.
5. Registration is for Dunstable Residents ONLY.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are we doing baseball evaluations in the fall?
Spring evaluations are COLD on un-prepared and often frozen or snow covered fields, and the kids have not played ball for quite some time.
Which level will my child play on?
General guidelines are shown below:
5 - 6 year olds: Tee-Ball – Note: All Kindergarten kids should plan on playing T-ball, Rookie starts at 1st grade.
6 - 8 year olds: Rookie (formerly known as Farm or coach pitch)
8 - 10 year olds: Division one (first year of Kids pitching)
10 -12 year olds: Major or Minors based upon ability
Does my child need to attend evaluations?
If you child has played on Majors or Babe Ruth, they DO NOT need to attend. Those who played on Rookie, Div One and Minor team in 2009 are strongly encouraged to attend evaluations.
How will players be evaluated?
All players will be required to field ground balls/pop flys, batting (swing mechanics), throwing for accuracy and distance. Evaluation data per player will also be included from each head coach (Rookie, Div One Minors and Minors) from the past 2009 season.
When will we know what team my child is on?
Parents will be informed just before the season starts sometime before mid-March 2010. We wait so that we can manage team size closer to 12 per team. This will allow for new people moving to town and/or late registrations. 12 person teams will allow for more playing time for all players.
