May 16, 2004  --   Way To Go Ellwood!!!!!!! 2nd place finish with a 3-1 record tied with Armstrong. The tie breaker was our loss to Armstrong and they recieved 1st Place.

    2004 Riverside Tournament
May 29, 2004 - 09:00 AM --   The Riverside Tournament did not have the same results as the first but a valuable lesson was learned. Ellwood finished with a 1-4 record but the one win was against Riverside (moral victory). The tournament was a 11-under and this 10-year old team found themself struggling with the older players. The Ellwood team never gave up until the last out was recorded and the dust had settled.

    2004 Grove City Tournament

    2004 Meridian Tournament
June 13, 2004 - 05:00 PM --   Ellwood's first tournament victory, and it was well deserved. EC cruised through Saturday with easy victories. Sunday proved to be very difficult and challenging. Kiski was the first opponent and EC jumped out to a 6-1 lead only to see Kiski come back and pull with in 1. The fifth inning EC defense fell apart and Kiski scored 3 runs to take the lead. EC was down to their last 3-outs in the top of the 6th. The bats came alive and EC scored 6 runs on 5 hits, followed by a solid bottom of the 6th. EC was in the final. The final score read EC-12 Kiski-8.
The championship game was a rematch of the previous week with McKnight (N Hills/Shaler). Last week McKnight squeeked by EC with a 5-4 victory, but this game was going to be different. EC fell behind 6-0 after 2, but was lifted by Matt Morrella's straight away center field crush to rally the team with a 5 run 3rd to pull with in 1. EC shut out McKnight for the rest of the game and used a 2-out squeeze play to score the winning run and closed out McKnight in the bottom of the 6th stranding the tieing run at third. Final score EC-7 McKnight-6
