The FYSA Boy's Basketball House League emphasizes fun as well as the fundamentals of basketball. The goal is to provide group participation where each child will play equal time in each game throughout the season, while learning sportsmanship, teamwork and building self-confidence.
First through fouth grade boys who are interested in basketball are welcome to participate. Players from these grades will be divided into two divisions:
***Rookie Division-1st & 2nd grade. ***Junior Division-3rd & 4th grade.
What to expect:
*Rookie division will be more of a developmental division where the coaches will be on the floor with four players instructing the game play. Points will be scored for each basket and there will be skill sets where each child has an opprtunity to score before the start of the game and the start of the second half.
*Junior division will be more of a traditional game where the games will be decided by points scored for each team. There will be certain rules in place to minimize a "One to two player dominate team".
*Teams will be balanced and fair based on skills performed during assessment night.
*When teams are assigned after assessment, coaches will contact you regarding the first practice. The remaining practice and game times will be handed out and posted in the schedule tab located in the main menu box.
*There will be two practices each week with games every other Saturday at Hayes Elementary.
