It is the Garland Stampede Board’s pleasure to announce the hiring of our new Stampede coach - Mr. Jason Aigen.  Coach Aigen grew up playing hockey in New York.  He played for both his high school and local club organization and later went on to play his college hockey at Stony Brook University on Long island.

He brings with him an extensive hockey coaching background with almost two decades of experience.  Most recently he has served as head coach at the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut (a Division I prep school in the prestigious Founders League).  Prior to coaching prep school hockey he spent time coaching various levels of youth hockey in Texas, Colorado, Florida and New York from pee wee through midget, at both the Tier I & II levels, as well as serving as head coach of the Colorado School of Mines college club team for four years. 

Coach Aigen believes that in order for a team to really succeed all players on the team must understand and embrace three simple concepts: hard-work, discipline and creativity.  To help players improve, practices are often conducted at high tempo in order to push players out of their "comfort zone" and become better and more creative players.

Outside of hockey Coach Aigen works as a mathematics teacher at the Hockaday School here in Dallas.  We will have a meet and greet with Coach Aigen at the end of July and tryouts will be in August before school starts (announcement will be soon on the exact date).
