GCAA Travel Basketball Program
GCAA Travel is in addition to our intramural program. Boys and girls grades 3rd - 8th compete in the Island Garden Super League during the late fall and winter. Travel Tryouts are tentatively scheduled for the weeks of September 28th and October 5th. Watch for further updates.
The GCAA sent 13 of its 16 travel teams to the Island Garden playoffs last year!
The GCAA has crowned two Division 1 champions in the last 2 years:

Our goal is to put our best boys and girls on the court for the Super League. We hold highly competitive but fair tryouts. No players or coaches are "pre-picked". Most coaches from the previous season are usually given the option to coach again.
Travel is in addition to the GCAA intramural program. All travel players must register for intramurals. Intramurals starts December 5th, there are no tryouts for intramurals.
Island Garden Super Leagues and Standings
CAA Announces Travel Try Outs for Travel Basketball
GCAA will be hosting try outs for Travel Basketball. The teams will play in the highly competitive Island Garden League. You do not need to try out if you have any interest solely in playing GCAA intramurals. In that case, just fill out the GCAA application. The intramural application can be downloaded from the GCAA website www.gc-aa.com and then clicking on the basketball link. In order to be eligible for the travel try out, all players must be pre-registered for intramurals and they must pre-register for the try out via email with the applicable contact listed below. Once a player pre-registers, the player will be given the final time and location of the try out. The fee for the Island Garden travel season, which starts in mid November and runs thru March, will be approximately $375 per player which includes participation in GCAA intramurals. Any intramural fee paid in advance will be credited towards the $375 travel fee. If a child can use last year’s GCAA travel uniform, the fee will be $325 per player. Please note the travel program is not an introductory program as our teams will play the best basketball teams from around the New York region. GCAA Travel typically works around other in season sports when scheduling try outs, plans around Middle School and CYO conflicts during the basketball season and ensures there are no scheduling conflict between travel and intramural games. Teams will play an 18 game season typically starting in mid Novemeber and ending in mid March 2010. Teams will generally practice once a week. GCAA typically puts together two teams per grade subject to adequate demand and available coaching.
Most grades will conduct a one night try out although a few grades (3rd Grade Boys and 4th Grade Girls) will plan for 2 nights. A player must attend both nights for those grades with a two day try out process.
The contacts for each grade are listed below. The contacts listed may not be the coach in the grade. Please pre-register in your applicable grade and note the age of the player when you register in your email. The times and dates of the try outs are listed below.
