The Greater Whiteland Baseball Association (GWBA) and Babe Ruth League, Inc., using regulation competitive baseball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. In all aspects, Babe Ruth League, Inc. and GWBA are committed to providing our participants the very best educational and sports experience possible. It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball be afforded that opportunity.
The objective of the corporation shall be to implant firmly in the boys and girls of the community the ideas of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority so that they may be well-adjusted, stronger, happier boys and girls and will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy men and women.
To achieve this objective, GWBA will provide a supervised program of competitive baseball games. All Directors, Officers, and Members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and that molding of future men and women is of primary importance.
GWBA is a member of Babe Ruth League, Inc. and Southern Indiana Babe Ruth Leagues and we are chartered within District #1. Per Babe Ruth League, Inc., our boundaries include Johnson County, to include the towns of Greenwoood, Franklin, New Whiteland, Whiteland and School Systems of said towns.
Note: Cal Ripken Baseball (ages 4-12) is a Division of Babe Ruth League, Inc.
