---- All 2nd year JV players moving up to Varsity next year are invited to the Varsity Pasta Dinner at 6:30.
---- All 1st year JV players are to meet at the Softball building meeting room at 6:30 for pizza.
Friday, 10/23 - 5:00 Practice - Just a walk through so no pads or helmets. WEAR YOUR WHITE JERSEYS TO PRACTICE!
---- Pep Rally immediately following from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
Saturday, 10/24 - HOMECOMING vs EHC - Please arrive by 4:30. RED JERSEYS!
All players must be in the end zone at the end of the Pee Wee game with whomever is walking with them for Homecoming.
Sunday, 10/25 - B Game vs EHC - Players to arrive by 1:00 pm

Wednesday 10/7 – Scrimmage IN Mays Landing – Players are to arrive by 4:45 and wearing WHITE jerseys.
Thursday 10/8 – 5:45 Start - FULL PADS
Friday 10/9 - 5:00 Start – Helmets & Shoulders Pads
Saturday 10/10 – Home game vs. Linwood – Players are to arrive by 4:30 and wearing RED jerseys.
Sunday 10/11 – B Game at home vs. Linwood – Players are to arrive by 1:00 and wearing RED jerseys.
2009 NORTHFIELD CARDINALS AD BOOK:
Ad placements are due no later than Friday, 10/9. Ad books will be available at the Northfield Cardinals Homecoming Game on Saturday, 10/17.
HOMECOMING CORSAGE ORDERS:
Red carnation pin-on corsages are available for our Homecoming Game on 10/17. Corsages are $3.00 each and orders must be placed no later than 10/8.
Due to the excessive amount of players being late or missing practices, we have implemented the following policy.
Please make sure players are arriving on time for practice. Each night there are too many kids either arriving late or just not showing up. This disrupts the practices on many levels. We have 3 games left and they are tough ones so practice is imperative. Therefore, on time attendance is required.
If your child misses or is late to more than one practice during the next few weeks, they will not have a starting position for the following weekend. When they are not there, other children are practiced in the their positions.
FRIDAY PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON.
As we have said in the beginning of the season, players are not guaranteed positions nor are they guaranteed starting spots.

Friday 9/11
There is practice tonite at 5:15 and players are to be in full practice gear.
Also, pictures are tomorrow at 11:30 in the cafeteria of NCS. Players are to be in uniform with sneakers...NO CLEATS!Do not be late as this holds up the whole team.

Due to the weather, practice is canceled for this evening.
Tomorrow night, Friday, practice will begin at 5:15 in FULL PADS.

Week of 9/7 - 9/13

Sat. 9/12 – Pictures at 11:30 am at Northfield Community School cafeteria. All players are to be in their complete game uniforms including their BLACK SOCKS with sneakers. DO NOT WEAR CLEATS!
5:30 game in Brigantine. All players must be in Brigantine by 4:30 pm.
Sun. 9/13 – B Game at 2:00 in Northfield vs Pleasantville. All players to be at the field by 1:00.
Parents, please make sure that your child has everything they need for game time and they are on time. Too many kids showed up on Saturday either late or with uniform issues such as forgotten rib pads, socks, belts, etc. Please have them come prepared.

9/1 - All JV players are to report to the Ventnor Football field no later than 5:30 for the scrimmage. Full uniform with a water bottle.
This is a fundraiser and all proceeds from t-shirt sales, snack bar and 50/50 go to Brain Cancer Research, The Claudia Fund at John Hopkins University Hospital.
9/2 & 9/3 - Regular practice time to begin at 5:45
9/4 - Practice to begin at 5:30. Helmets & Shoulder Pads Only.

9/5 - Exhibition Game vs Ventnor at 5:30. All JV players are to be in Ventnor no later than 4:15 in full game uniform.
Please make sure your child is ON TIME to all practices and scrimmages. If they will be absent or late, you must contact either Coach Deveney at 517-2536 or 576-9286 PRIOR to start or practice.

Practice for tonite is cancelled due to the weather.
The scrimmage/fundraiser in Ventnor for tomorrow will be rescheduled for Tuesday night. We will give the time information at practice on Monday.
Monday night we will practice at our normal time at 5:45. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME!

JV Practice - Week 2
Practice this week will be Monday through Friday from 5:45 to approximately 7:15. All players should be dressed in FULL PADS. This includes protective cups. If anyone has any issues with their equipment, please arrive by 5:30 to get it taken care of.
As always, arrive on time and be ready to start.

Welcome Northfield Cardinals JV 2009! Please take a minute to read over the information below.
EQUIPMENT/UNIFORMS:
This season, practice equipment will be issued on Thursday, August 6th at 6:00pm.
· All players will be issued a pair of black game socks to be worn ONLY on game days.
· Each player will also be issued a pair of RED practice pants when uniforms are distributed. No black or white practice pants are permitted! There are no exceptions to this Cardinal rule.
PRACTICES:
Regular practices will begin on Monday, August 10th at 5:45 and end approximately at 7:15. Practices will be conducted Monday through Friday for the first two weeks and go down to 4 days a week starting week three. Mondays will primarily be the off day. However, there may be weeks that a Monday practice will be scheduled.
If there is a chance that practice may be cancelled due to inclement weather, this website will be updated accordingly. Phone calls will not go out, so please be sure to check this website between 4:00 and 4:30 for any updates.
Practices are NOT optional and are integral to the player’s development. If you cannot make a practice, you must contact the Head Coach with a valid reason and be excused.
When you enter the field you must be fully dressed and prepared, including your helmet. DO NOT GET DRESSED ON THE FIELD. Also, your mouthpiece must be attached to your face mask.
BE ON TIME FOR ALL PRACTICES! Lateness is not acceptable. Therefore, if a player is late, they should be prepared to run a lap.
POSITIONS:
All positions are open for competition throughout the season. No players will win positions based on who their parents are or because their parent is a coach.
All decisions will be based on what is best for the team, not just one player. There are many times when a parent does not agree with a decision that a coach makes. Instead of criticizing the coach and the decision along the sidelines, please feel free to discuss with the head coach prior to or after the practice or game has ended.
Parents are not permitted to enter the playing field during practices or games unless it is an emergency.
FUNDRAISER:
There will be a MANDATORY raffle fundraiser conducted this season to keep the sign up fee from rising and also because of the rising cost of football equipment. Players are responsible for selling 10 tickets at $5.00 each. Parents can opt out of the fundraiser for $25.00. Players will not be issued game uniforms until this requirement is met.
SNACK BAR:
All parents are required to help out with the snack bar and should touch base with the Team Mom for the snack bar schedule. This includes A games and Sunday B games. Anyone who wishes to volunteer to be the Team Mom for JV, please contact Karin at 576-9286.
REGULAR SEASON:
The season starts on Sunday, September 6th. This season, JV games will start at 5:30 on Saturday nights and at 2:30 on Sundays. B games will be played on Sundays at 2:30. The B game schedule will be posted as it is put together.
During B games, all players that played Saturday nights are required to be on the sidelines cheering on their teammates. All B game players are required to be at the Saturday night games to be eligible to play in the B games.
Players are to be at the field a minimum of 45 minutes prior to the start of the game.
EFFORT AND ATTITUDE:
A team with players giving 100% effort that has a positive attitude will be a GREAT team. This is your TEAM. Your effort and attitude will determine what kind of team the Cardinals will be.
