Fundraising Info
Vice-President of Fundraising is Kay Haney - 410-360-3242.
You may not be aware of this, but your registration fees do NOT cover all the expenses necessary to operate the Club. Baseball is an expensive sport (playing equipment, baseballs, uniforms, trophies, insurance, newsletters, etc.), but we try to keep your outright costs as low as possible. We do this by providing fundraising activities that allow you to do a little bit of work in order to avoid paying more money. We expect everyone to contribute to these programs or we will have to raise our registration fees. Below are some of the fundraising activities.

Bat-a-thon (R)
Director of the Bat-a-thon (R) is Kay Haney - 410-360-3242.
For 2009, we will once again be conducting a Bat-A-Thon as our Primary Fundraiser. This involves your child getting pledges from friends and family on how well they can hit a baseball at the contest. Your player can win prizes based on how many selling points they get pledged and collected, and also on how well they hit the ball. Your player's team can earn prizes also on how many players participate and how much money they can raise.

Your manager will receive a Bat-A-Thon packet for each of his players at the April 6 manager meeting. You will have approximately one month to get your pledges, and then another month to collect and return money.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 8U RED SOX - WINNER OF THE 2009 TEAM AWARD.  They won a trip to the Bowie Baysox on June 6.

Concession Stand
Director of Concessions is Carole Caines - 410-255-7229.
We operate a concession stand at the Havenwood Park (HP) fields. We also have vending machines at the Meadow Road (MR) fields, and are planning to put some at the Poplar Ridge (PR) fields.

When you play a game at the Havenwood, your team is REQUIRED to help out in the stand. The Director of Concessions will work in conjunction with your team manager or team parent to make a schedule for each home team to send one parent to the stand to work for a one hour period.

Pre-paid Raffle Tickets
Director of Raffle Tickets is Jen Carr - 410-255-9866.
When you register to play, you pay in advance for 20 raffle tickets. The tickets will be handed out to each player by their team manager at the first team practice. Because you already pre-paid for these 20 tickets, you sell them and keep the money. The ticket stubs must be turned in to your team manager or team parent before the June BOD meeting. Even if you don't sell the tickets, you should at least put your own name on the stubs and turn them in to your manager - you may win one of the prizes!
