Awards and Accolades - 2008
We are very proud of this section. Here, we chronicle all of the awards and accolades that Powersquad International has accumulated in the variety of tournaments that we attended in 2008. Please join us in congratulating the members and the team for a job well done!!

Powersquad Europe wins the Diamond Series CUP in Slough!!!
Powersquad Europe started their softball season with a bang on May 10th at the Diamond Series I Tournament in Slough! I am happy to report that they Won the Diamond Series I Tournament with an 8-1 record!! You see them all in the picture above celebrating their win!! Just to give you some background, here are the words of the squad captain,  Danni Tanbini, right after the trophy was presented:
"...I have to say i am TRULY proud of EVERYONE that played this weekend. I stood in front of everyone on Friday night explaining that this weekend was about making friends and having fun more that winning anything, and ensured that i cared not if we lost every game, because it would be the first time we had every played together therefore making it impossible for us to be able to judge each other's ability or actions.
I WAS PROVED VERY WRONG. Over the weekend we had 6 double plays FROM THE OUTFIELD by John, Neil, Caroline, Rob & Karl (two of which by Karl during the Final). I managed to strike out 11 players WATCHING (dont ask me how!). There was a TEXTBOOK rundown between 3rd & home, which was so good it received a round of applause from the other teams that where watching. We had big sticks from Rob, Jen, Karl, Jason & Dean (to be honest Dean's stick was HUGE!!!!!!!!!) & the fastest legs you have ever seen from Alex. And above all else every one had a BLAST!"
I think that statement says it all.
You have to thank squad captains Danni Tanbini and Rob "Jonny Bravo" Dickie for the FINE job they are doing representing Powersquad in the UK!! We will add this picture in Powersquad's HALL OF FAME later this year, but for the meantine, we will ALL celebrate this victory. Danni has mentioned that the trophy will be on display for everyone to see in Kalamazoo!!

Danni Tanbini wins the Female MVP at the Diamond Series I Tournament!!
Our own Danielle "Danni" Tanbini wins the Female MVP at the Diamond Series I Tournament in Slough!! This is our first MVP award for the 2008 season and we are tickled to death that Danni won the award!! Above, you see Danni accepting the award from the tournament directors!

Rob Dickie Wins the Mr. Can Am Award at the Can Am Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan!!
That's right - our own Rob "Jonny Bravo" Dickie wins the Mr. Can Am award at the Can Am Tournament in Kalamazoo, MI!! This is Powersquad's FIRST Mr. Can Am Award!! Rob had to make a small speech in acceptance of the award to showcase his Scottish Accent to the American and Canadian crowd!! We are REALLY proud of Rob as he helps Powersquad pick up hardware in it's 2nd tournament of the year!!
