"Hot Damn" Players of the Game
JULY 14, 2004
What a way to end the season, with Team Rhino coming up with a big win. 5 in a row!! With everyone playing well, Bo & Jason had a tough time coming up with this week's Hot Damn players, but 2 people stood out. For defense - Lori Hester. After having her glove stolen at the beginning of the year, she struggled through the season with a glove she really didn't care for. Then her friend Amber went shopping in Helena and found the Rawlings 14" glove she was desperately looking for. Since then, she's back in her groove! She played very well in the outfield, tracking down lots of fly balls - the Club Cigar team really picked on her. For offense - Quincie Brown. Once again Quincie came through with the base hits when we needed them. This was important since it was mostly a defensive game with neither team scoring lots of runs. Congrats to you both and to everyone else for a great season. Let's carry the momentum through districts and on to state!

4 in a row - way to go team!! It was a great all-around effort by the whole team. This week's Hot Damn Players are: for Offense, once again, the "Big Dog" Nikki Hunter. Nikki again batted 1.000 - 3 games in a row now. She's hitting the ball hard, just like we knew she could! For Defense: Amber Brandt. Amber played solid at shortstop - as Jason put it - "Hoover". Keep up the good work everyone and let's carry the momentum through the rest of the season!
JUNE 23, 2004
Nice game goes out to everyone! We had some awesome hits and good defense from everyone. "Hot Damn" player for offense: Corinne Beardsley. Corinne cut loose and went 3-4 with some really nice hits when we needed them. (However, she wanted to point out that she won "Hot Damn" player even though she struck out). For defense: Bo couldn't single out any one player, so he gave us all the "Hot Damn" award for defense. Once again, nice job everyone!
JUNE 16, 2004
Great game everyone! We struggled in the beginning, but had a couple of big innings to pull ahead and stay there. We had 2 players that really stepped up this week and brought their "A" game. For offense: Quincie Brown. Quincie broke out and had her best hitting game of the year. She was robbed of a hit twice by outstanding defensive plays. For defense: Kim Songer. Kimmie got some pitching advice from Bo and really came out firing! She had 0 walks, 8 strikeouts, and a nice double play to end the game. She was awesome! Congrats to both players on a great game!!! And remember Quincie - there's no crying in baseball.......
JUNE 9, 2004
Finally a game worth writing about! For defense: Laurie Lincoln contines to play awesome in the outfield, tracking down tough pop-ups and backing up the other outfielders. Becky Shea played a great 3rd base. She hustled after pop-ups and tried for every grounder close to her. For offense: Nikki Hunter & Amber Brandt both batted 1.000, but Nikki wins the prize. She cut loose this game, going 6 for 6 with a home run and triple. Way to be a big dog!! Congrats to all the players for an outstanding game!
JUNE 2, 2004
Coach Bo said we all played so bad that we should have to buy him a shot of Hot Damn......
MAY 26, 2004
We played well for 5 innings, but gave the other team a chance to bat through their order for an inning. For offense - Laurie Lincoln. Laurie is continuing to hit the ball well and be consistent. For Defense - Nikki Hunter. Nikki was moved in from the outfield to cover 2nd base and did an outstanding job. Congrats to you both!
MAY 19, 2004
Not the best game of our careers. The big sister team showed up and gave us a lesson. For defense - Amy Mardis. Amy played very well, getting the majority of the balls hit to the outfield. For offense - Amber Brandt. Amber went 2-3 with a 2 singles and a double. Congrats to both players!
MAY 12, 2004
We survived the cold & snow! Once again everyone played well. It was tough to decide on the player of the game - so we decided on 2 players. For defense - Laurie Lincoln. Laurie did a great job of patrolling center field and tracking down some big hits. For offense - Amy Mardis. Amy went 4-4 and drove in 2 runs. She came through with base hits when we needed them. Congrats to both of you on being our "Hot Damn" Players of the Game!
MAY 5
Angie Swingley is our player of the game. She was a home-run short of "hitting for the cycle" (Bo held her at 3rd) - she went 5-5 and drove in 6 runs. She played excellent defense at first, tracking down some very tricky throws. Congrats Ang!
