2011 Information for Coaches
-------------------------------
FINGERPRINTING - MANDATORY
The league and Sierra Oaks Soccer requires all coaches and assistant coaches to be fingerprinted and have a background check done (even if you are in law enforcement and have had it done recently as state and local agencies do not share fingerprint records).
We have contracted with Capital Live Scan, a local company that performs a "live scan" fingerprinting service. For more information and locations on this service, www.capitallivescan.com.
The live scan process takes about a minute and you only need to bring you legal identification (drivers license or passport). The required form is listed below. Sierra Oaks Soccer pays for the live scan service for coaches and assistant coaches.
-------------------------------
COACHING
Please send an email to Mike Casentini at mikecasentini@sosoccer.org if you are NOT returning to your team for 2011. The Club will need to get started on replacing non-returning coaches as soon as possible.
-------------------------------
COACHING LICENSE
This year Sierra Oaks Soccer Club will be hosting the F license coaching clinic at Sierra Oaks School, June 3rd and 4th. Unless you are eligible to "waive-in" as a first year coach, you cannot coach if you do not have your F license. Sierra Oaks Soccer Club will be paying the class fees for our Club's coaches.
Please contact our Coaching Coordinator with any questions,
Mike Casentini

Coaching clinics & Licenses
According to the RCYSL coach & referee handbook: Coaches and assistant-coaches must complete a CYSA "F" course. However, the "F" course requirement may be waived for the first coaching year.
The training consists of a 3 hour class room session and an 8 hour outdoor session. CYSA instructors will teach you everything that you need to know to run a youth soccer team. The cost of the class & license are covered by the Club.
For coaches of older teams, we recommend getting the class 'E' license. At this level Basic Tactics and Intermediate Technique are the focus. Again, you put in the time and the Club will put in the cash.
