The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have added RHP Chuckie Fick to the 2012 40 Man Roster. Great news, and congratulations to Chuckie and the Fick family. Well done.

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) was pleased to award Coach Bill Gentry a 25 Year Coaching Award plaque at the ABCA convention in Nashville, TN. The award recognizes Coach Gentry for "OVER A QUARTER CENTURY OF COACHING EXCELLENCE."

Chuckie Fick had a great year pitching for the Memphis Red Birds, the AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. As the 2011 season ended in AAA Memphis, Chuckie got the call. Chuckie was selected as a pitcher for Team USA and will be in-route to Panama where he will join the rest of the USA team in a series of games against Japan, Panama, and Cuba. While Chuck, Kathy, and the rest of Fick family where excited and proud, Chuckie summed it up by sharing with his father that he wanted the USA jersey with his name on the back, and the Team USA player bag. Good luck Chuckie, and the Blue teams loss of a pitching coach is a gain for the USA.

Hideo Nomo "The TORNADO" pitched two scoreless innings against the Cardinals BLUE squad at the MLB Urban Youth Academy on October 7, 2007.
Eight members of the Cardinals BLUE squad had the opportunity to face Hideo Nomo as he threw on Sunday in preparation for his departure for the Venezuela Winter League. Nomo is scheduled to throw on October 16, 2007 with the Caracas Lions where he has signed for the 2007-2008 Winter Baseball season. Cardinals BLUE shortstop Brent Peterson (Bakersfield Christian High School, 2010) was all smiles when he fouled a Nomo pitch straight back into the back-stop and on the next pitch Peterson drove the ball into deep center field. It was a day that the young Cardinal hitter will talk about for the rest of his life. Nomo threw two 20 pitch innings against the Cardinal Blue squad and talked briefly with Coach Gentry before leaving the MLB Academy. We wish Hideo the best of luck as he continues his career.
