HOW TO HAVE A GREAT LACROSSE SEASON - A FEW TIPS FOR PARENTS AND PLAYERS FROM ST. PETER'S LACROSSE

*If you have any questions ask your coach, he/she may not have all the answers but they will get one for you. Communication with the head coach is very important.

*Let the head coach know (by e-mail or by phone) when your son/daughter will NOT be able to make a practice or a game.

*Make sure your son/daughter arrives on time and ready to begin practice or play the game at the designated time and location.

*If you are dropping your son/daughter off, please make sure that you return at least ten to fifteen minutes before practice ends to be able to get your player on time as well as hear any instructions that are given at the end of practice to the parents and players.

*Players should dress appropriately for the weather conditions of the day, it can be very cold, raw, and windy on the practice and game fields in March and April. It can be very hot in May, make sure they have bottled water.

*Players will get muddy, their cleats will be full of and dirt/mudd when practice is over.

*Players should bring a water bottle with a name on it.

*Label all your players equipment and clothing with your name and phone number.

*In the event there is inclement weather please check your voice mail, your e-mail, and this web site for any cancellation notices.

*GIRLS: Each player should also come equipped to play with: eye protection, mouth guard, and stick, girl’s lax gloves are optional, they are helpful especially when its cold or wet.

*GIRLS EYEPROTECTION - It's mandatory for all practices and games. A wide variety of cage style eye protection are now available from Cascade, Brine, and deBeer.

*BOYS: Each player should also come equipped to play: helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, cup and lax stick.

*UNIFORMS - Follow the washing instructions on the uniform labels.

*PRACTICE & GAME FIELDS - KEEP THEM CLEAN! Players, parents and coaches - WE need to keep the practice fields as well as the Home and away game fields clean. Take your trash with you when you leave, especially for home games. If you are playing a Home game at Sherwood clean-up Home and Visiting sides after the game.

*CHECK THE WEATHER FORECAST BEFORE YOUR PRACTICES & GAMES - Coaches and parents need to check the weather forecasts before games. We are required to clear the field for 30 minutes when lightning is seen in the area, or thunder is heard. Lightning - If you can see it, it can kill you!! Take shelter in a nice big SUV, a car or a building - DO NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER ANY TREES!!

*CHECK THE MYLA WEBSITE FOR GAME CHANGES - Coaches and parents need to check the MYLA website for changes to games include game start time and game field locations.

*Learn the game if you don't know it.

    *Have some fun.

    *Volunteer to help!

    *THANK YOUR COACHES!
