Official STL Wiffle Ball Rules
Official STL Wiffle Ball League/Tournament Rules

1.  Men cannot through breaking balls, only fast balls to women.

2.  Their will be no running.  Ghost Runners will be used instead.  Less Running = More Drinking

3.  Runners must be forced home in order to score. For example if there is a ghost man on second and you hit a double he doesn't score, he will be on third.

4.  The strike zone will be a made of PVC Pipe and metal in the middle.  If it hits the metal or the PVC pipe around the zone it is considered a strike

5.  Games will be either 7 innings or 55 minutes, which ever comes first.

6.  In order for a game to be considered a forfeit you must have less than 4 people or not have enough people 10 minutes after game time.

7.  The field will be marked off in zones:  single zone, double zone, and the triple zone.  The single zone is 45ft out, the double zone is 65 ft out, and the triple zone is from 65ft-85ft.  Homeruns are obviously over the fence.
Also the pitchers mound will be exactly 42 ft away from home plate.

8.  Ways to be called out
   A.  Three strikes and your out
   B.   Fly balls caught in fair or foul territory
   C.  Ground balls caught while the ball is in motion, in fair territory before it passes the single line.
   D.  Bunting is not allowed!!
   E.  Foul off the third strike into the strike zone

9.  Batters will start with a 1-1 Count

10.  Batters also will receive a base on balls (walk) if the count reaches 4 balls.

11.  Each Team must have a scorekeeper at each game
    A.  The umpire will be keeping score as well

12.  Markers will be used to show who is on base so there is no confusion.

13.  If a batter is hit by the pitch it is considered a ball unless struck in the head then it is an automatic walk.

14.  The point system will be as follows: Win= 2pts Loss= 0 pts and a Tie= 1pt

15.  Since there are six players on the field at one time, here are the positions.
Pitcher, Catcher, Two infielders and Two Outfielders.  Your infielder will want to play just inside of the single line.  And your outfielders will want to play opposite sides inbetween the double and triple zones.

16.  Mercy Rule: If a team is up by 15 runs after 4 innings the game is over

17.  The Dead Zone:  There will be a zone 10ft out on each side from home plate.  If the ball lands in this area and comes to a complete stop it will be a dead ball and be equivalent to a foul ball.

18.  You may bring your own equipment to the games, i.e. bats and balls.  The balls must be checked by the umpire and commissioner to be able to use.  You may use three types of bats:  the thin yellow wiffle ball bat, the thicker louisville slugger plastic bat, and the aluminum wiffle ball bat.  However, if you have the aluminum wiffle ball bat, to be fair the other team is allowed to use it as well.  If they break it they will buy it right there on the spot.  If they don't the game will be a forfeit in aluminum wiffle ball bat teams favor.
