FROM LITTLE LEAGUE TO THE PROS
The first Majors League team in L.L. John ever played for ironically was the Pittsburgh Pirates when he was 9.
John started playing Varsity as a 14 year old at the best High School baseball program in the country Rancho Bernardo and playing travel baseball with the Encinita Reds 16U and 18U. At RB John received All-City and All-State honors his Junior and Senior year. John signed a letter of intent to San Diego State his senior year.
Unfortunately weeks before the June MLB Amateur Draft John suffered a injury that would keep him off a baseball field for a year. The Pittsburgh Pirates Drafted John in the 10th Round, number 285 overall as a Outfielder. Shortly after signing his Pro contract in June, recieved reconstructive ankle surgery.
John moved to the infield and started playing first base in 2005. He hit his first homerun of his career that season against the Boston Red Sox. In 2006 John played in the New York Penn League until August when he got his release from the Pitrats.
Since John has started teaching kids and has developed a great reputation in San Diego as being one of the best baseball instructors. John has coached All-Star and Travel Ball teams to numerous Major Tournament Championships at the youth level.
Because of the dilution of "Competitive Travel Baseball" and the emergence of "Feeder Teams" John has started his own baseball program, the Peabody Premier Baseball Club. To insure young players are being taught the pro way and to develop players beyond the High School level. First was a 11 year old team was started in order to teach kids good habits at a early age. Then a 13 year old team will start to prep 8th graders for Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball. Also a 2012 Showcase Team to give 16 to 18 year olds a chance to play and showcase their skills in front of college and pro scouts. All Peabody Baseball Players and Clients learn the mental and physical parts of the game.
