Head Coach - Drew Gordon
Drew is in his first year as the Head Coach of the Vermont Ice Storm. He is 27 years old and has been involved with the Ice Storm organization for the last 9 years as a player, player coach, captain and BOD member/owner. He has coaching experience with Essex High School, Milton High School and the Vermont Ice Storm. A defensive player by experience, Drew has coached both the offensive and defensive side of the ball at both the high school and semi-pro level.
Drew is a Essex High graduate and played football for the D I Hornets. He was a two year starter and earned 1st Team All-State recognition in his senior year. He attended the University of Vermont as a Secondary Education Major and joined the Ice Storm after his freshmen year. As a player, Drew earned all-star recognition each and every year that he was on the team in both the New England Football League and the Empire Football League. He was a part of the undefeated 2007 Empire Football League Championship team that also earned the American Football Association National Championship title and he was also on the 2008 D I AAA National Championship team.
Drew has been married to Maria Gordon for nearly 6 years. They were married on July 8th, 2006. This is the same night that the Ice Storm opened the EFL season at home versus St. Lawrence. Playing on his own wedding day, Drew had an interception for a touchdown and helped the team secure a 40-0 victory. Drew and Maria have three children and live in the greater Burlington area. He teaches social studies at Milton High School.

Defensive Coordinator - Chris Allen
Defensive coordinator Chris Allen is a retired teacher, principal and coach from southwestern Ohio. Chris played at Blanchester High School for the legendary Jack O’Rourke, Sr. whose teams amassed a record of 27-2-1 during Chris’ 10th – 12th grade seasons. Coach Allen went on to play collegiately for the Quakers of Earlham College.
A graduate of Wilmington College (BA – History – ’83) and Wright State University (M.Ed. 1996) Chris held coaching positions at Blanchester, Clinton-Massie (head coach) and Wilmington High Schools in Ohio. Coach Allen also became a high school Principal at East Clinton High School and Felicity-Franklin High School.
Upon his retirement in 2009 he returned to his alma mater to assist his friend and high school and college teammate Jack O’Rourke, Jr. in returning the Blanchester Wildcat program to football greatness.
An interesting note: beside his teaching and coaching career Coach Allen also worked for the Cincinnati Bengals at their pre-season camp and was part of the gameday staff, taking still photographs from the video feed for the coaches and players on the sideline. Chris worked part time for the Bengals from 1990 until 1995 when the Bengals relocated their pre-season camp from Wilmington College to Georgetown College.
Chris and his fiancée Robin reside in Bolton Valley where they spend time with Robin’s daughters Emily, Holly and Natalya and their three pet cats and two doves.
O-line, D-line & Special Teams Coach - Pierre Cotton
Pierre A. Cotton Jr. is originally from Williamsburg, Virginia, where he was a three sport athlete, excelling at wrestling and football.
Following high school he was given a scholarship for wrestling and football to Norwich University, where he ultimately decided to play football. While at Norwich University, Pierre played for Coach Yesolonia; first as a linebacker and then as a defensive tackle. He was a three year starter.
Upon gradation, Pierre continued to play two years with the Vermont Ice Storm, where he played Nose Tackle.
Cotton has been a high school football coach for the last six years, coaching at BFA St. Albans High School, and is an Educator at the Baird School. He is married to Stephanie Cotton. The two have been married for ten years and have two children, Donyae (10) and Daisha (4).
Pierre is excited to be coaching with a great organization as the Ice Storm.
D Assistant/Special Teams Coach - Chris Coppins
Chris graduated from Colchester High School in 1997. He joined the Ice Storm mid way through it’s inaugural season in 2001. “Cop” played tailback helping the Ice Storm win the 2002 New England Football League Championship. He then was named the 2002 All-Star game MVP leading the Northern Conference to victory. In 2006 he moved to defense and is a perennial All-Star at middle linebacker both in the NEFL and the Empire Football League helping the Ice Storm win the 2007 EFL Championship and a National title beating the DC Explosion in Florida.
While spending 2012 rehabbing a knee injury Coach Coppins is working as an assistant coach with the defense and special teams. He is working to return to the field of play in 2013. Chris loves getting the team pumped up & motivated!
Chris is the father of two, Jaden and Brody, and lives in Fairfax with his girlfriend Rachel Nelson.

Jennifer Farrugia
Jennifer Farrugia received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from The University of Vermont. In her time there she worked with Women’s Basketball, Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s hockey and spent time at South Burlington High School.
She is certified by the BOC. She interned with the WNBA Washington Mystics during the summer of 2011 gaining experience at the professional level.
This past year she worked at Orthopaedic Care of Long Island as a physician extender and also in their physical therapy clinic designing rehabilitation programs for athletes and patients of all ages.
