WALKERSVILLE LIONS FIELD HOCKEY TEAM (FALL):
A tradition of excellence, County Champs: 1968, 1969, 1970, 1976, 1996, 2000
MARYLAND SHAMROCKS INDOOR FIELD HOCKEY TEAM (WINTER):
This is a select team made of high school players who train and compete in the offseason. The team plays in Gettysburg at the All-Star Sports Complex on Mondays and Tuesdays (sometimes only 1 game a week) starting November 19 and ending February 19. This year we will not have any formal practices as a team because most athletes are doing a winter sport. Cost is $100. Please make checks out to GVAA (Glade Valley Athletic Association). GVAA LIONS YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY TEAM (SPRING):
Future lions now have a place to play! Games are played in the Frederick County area against other youth teams from schools that feed Tuscarora, Middletown, Urbana, Linganore, Frederick, and TJ. Practices are held twice a week at Walkersville Middle School beginning in late March. Registration begins in December and ends on March 15.
WALKERSVILLE LIONS SUMMER CAMP (SUMMER):
A camp for both new and experienced players whose emphasis is on having fun while teaching the sport. This camp is instructed by the coaches and players of Walkersville High School, Shippensburg University's top goalkeeper, Allie Rutland, and former Damascus High School Head Coach Pam Byrne (current Maryland High School record holder for goals scored in a season, 33). Sign ups take place in the spring.
