Love 4 Laiken
Each year we celebrate and honor the life of former Bulldog Cheerleader Laiken Kenwood who was taken from us at the young age of 13. Laiken had a beautiful smile and a love for all things cheer.
We celebrate her memory and her amazing spirit every day!
THE LOVE 4 LAIKEN AWARD
The Love 4 Laiken Award is given in honor of Laiken Kenwood, a CHJAAF Cheerleader who cheered from the age of 5 to 12 years old.
With her very short years here on earth, 8 of those years were dedicated to the CHJAAF program.
Laiken was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at the age of 9 years old and passed away at the young age of 13 years old. Throughout her treatment, whenever possible, Laiken would come out to practice and games with smiles galore and with the most enthusiasm that any cheerleader could have. Just being around all her friends made her the happiest little girl in the world. Each night she was at practice no matter what she went through during the course of that day. She was resilient!
The Love 4 Laiken Award is given to the cheerleader who has the same spirit that lived in Laiken. She doesn't have to be the best cheerleader; she just has to give it her all. She doesn't have to be the best dancer; she just has to try with all of her heart. She doesn't have to be the loudest; she just has to be passionate in all that she does. She MUST be a kind-hearted person who has the heart and spirit to give back to others. This cheerleader should be someone who encourages her teammates to work hard, to smile through the tough times and to just LOVE being a cheerleader.
This very special award is given to a cheerleader of any age in our organization who conveys what Laiken stood for, a true champion and cheerleader.
