Veterans Park Rules

Cleat Rule(pitchers only)

Veterans Park will have a portable fiberglass mound- No metal cleats will be allowed on this mound, be sure pitchers wear: Rubber/molded plastic cleats, turf or tennis shoes.

Home Run Rule

Any ball that hits the outfield fence in fair territory and does not enter the net will be fair and in play.
Any ball that hits the net or hits the top of the outfield fence in fair territory and goes into the net will be deemed a Home Run.

Batting Cages

There are currently no cages at Veterans and Skyviews cages are not an option as they are reserved for teams playing games there. However, the JAYBAS indoor cages are available for warm up for teams playing games at Veterans and can be reserved through the web site.

Skyview Park Rules

PRE-GAME WARM-UPS

There will be NO infield taken prior to the game. However, teams may field ground balls from each side of 2nd base. The Home team will take the 3rd base side of the infield and the Visiting team the 1st base side. Teams may also hit fly balls to outfielders on their respective side of the field.
NO PITCHERS may warm up on the mound until the HOME team takes the field to start the game.

Scorekeeper

NO CHILDREN UNDER 16 ARE ALLOWED IN THE PRESS BOX

The Home team must provide the official scorekeeper (unless the scorekeeper has been provided by the league). If the Home team cannot furnish an official scorekeeper, the Home team may defer to the Visiting team for an official scorekeeper. The scorekeeper may be located in the press box and may also operate the scoreboard. The official scorekeeper must be outside the dugout.

Dugouts & Fields eligibility

NO CHEWING GUM!

Only team members are permitted in dugout and on playing field. No other children permitted in dugouts or on playing fields. This includes games and practice. This also includes adults that have not had a background check done.

Batting Cages

Fields 1, 2, 3 and 4 are the only fields that have batting cages reserved before the games each day. These teams get the batting cage one hour before their game time.

A chart is posted at the concession stand and at the batting cage building that shows how the cages are allocated. If your are not playing on one of these fields you do NOT have guarantee cage time before your game.

Batting practice is not permitted on the fields before the games and this includes Machine Pitch. There are many reasons for this...not fair to the teams not getting batting practice on the field before their games. Teams in other league also want on field batting practice and just not enough time for all teams. Cost is up this year for fields because of all the rain and practice on the fields before the season starts. This really wears on the fields and the teams having the last game have a bad field to play on.

Field & Park Maintenance Responsibilities

We will be playing on all 7 JAYBAS fields 7 days a week and Veterans Park until the end of the season. That is a lot of fields to get ready. So we need you help taking care of the fields & the park. Please clean up your trash from the dugouts and stands after every game! Managers please rake (level) around the bases and home plate after each game and remind players not to dig holes with their cleats. .
