What Is Our Sunday Travel League?
This will be our forth year participating in the Chicagoland Sunday Baseball league established in 2004 for the purpose of providing an additional travel baseball option for in-house players at a fraction of the cost that most travel leagues charge. It has grown from an original league operating in 7 suburban towns with 23 teams in 2004 to over 310 teams in 100 towns in 2010. The only requirement is that all players must participate in at least 75% of their house league games. Depending on the interest demonstrated by registrations, we will assemble two travel teams; one 13u and one 14u, that will play an additional 10 Sunday games (5 here at Sedgwick Park and 5 in the surrounding suburbs) during the season, or approximately 30 games total when combined with the house league. It should be noted that the 13u team plays on reduced diamond dimensions with bases at 80' and the pitcher's rubber at 55'. This is done in order to minimize the jump from Little League to MLB dimensions.
The Chicagoland Sunday Baseball league is run by Anthony Belmonte who has been running baseball leagues since 1985. Anthony has been an officer for the Summit, LaGrange and Palos baseball leagues over the past 23 years. You can reach Anthony at 708-261-9116 (after 5:00 p.m. ) or email him at email@example.com. If you would like more information about the league you may visit their website at http://www.clsunball.com/. This year's 13u Travel manager is Alex Prieto and he can be reached 708-497-5013 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The 14u team will not participate this year. For further information, please contact Rajer Shah email@example.com or at 312-953-9800. Rajer has managed the Sunday Travel teams and will gladly answer any questions you might have.
This is an excellent opportunity for more competitive baseball without the added expense and excessive travel required by area travel teams. Depending on enrollment, there will be additional winter practice schedule and as a result, additional fees to cover those expenses. Please contact your respective manager if you should have dditional questions.
