LOYL Boys Spring 2015 Select

 

Lake Oswego Youth Lacrosse offers players in the

5-6 and 7-8 programs a chance to compete at a higher level.

 

The Lake Oswego Select teams compete in league and tournament play against teams from other programs in Oregon including the

6th Annual Battle of Lake Oswego

 

Eligibility;   All players trying out for and playing Select must be registered and playing in the LOYL Rec. program at the same level they wish to play select.

 

Tryouts; There are three (3) tryout days for players.  Attendance at 2 of the 3 tryouts are mandatory.  Tryouts are on three consecutive Sundays beginning March 1st, followed by March 8th, and March 15th. At Lakeridge High School Field 2.

 

5-6 tryouts are from 1-3 PM

7-8 tryouts are from 3-5 PM

 

Team Selections and Cuts; Select teams are chosen by the head coaches.  Selection criteria include stick skills, lacrosse IQ, coach-ability and athleticism. At the 7-8 level, we anticipate that there will be cuts in 2015.  Teams are limited in size and cuts are likely.  Please have your player ready to play. 

 

The 5-6 program is smaller in terms of head count, and we do not anticipate cuts unless we are unable to field a “B” team.  Please be sure and encourage your player’s friends and teammates to try out.  The 5-6 “B” team is the crucible where future players are forged. 

 

 

Tournaments; All four LOYL teams (5-6 “A, 5-6 “B”, 7-8 “A”, and 7-8 “B” will play in three tournaments;

  1. Sherwood Shootout -  May 2nd and 3rd 2015
  2. Oregon Cup – May 16th and 17th
  3. Battle of Lake Oswego (BOLO) May 22nd – May 25th

 

Cost;  Cost to play select in 2015 is $220 per player, and includes uniforms from Northwest Outfitters, all tournament fees, coaching fees, field space, referees, and lunch at tournaments.
