Michigan Jets' 2014 Accomplishments

This is what the Michigan Jets accomplished

 

in 2014.:

  • The Jets had a 47-6-3 record.

  • The Jets won 20 of their 47 games via mercy (or run rule).

  • The Jets did not get mercied one time the entire season.

  • The Jets held a lead in 54 of their 56 games.

  • Through their first 29 games, the Jets did not allow more than four runs in 28 of those 29 games.

  • The Jets are now the only team to win both the Triple Crown Sports' Great Lakes Spectacular and the Motor City Pride Collegiate Clash twice.

  • The Jets won seven of the eleven tournaments that they entered. They also placed third in two other tournaments.

  • The Jets won the USSSA State Tournament, the USSSA Diamond Classic, the USSSA Midwest Elite, the Triple Crown Sports Great Lakes Spectacular, the Joel Zito Invitational, the Arsenal Invitational, and the Genesee Fieldhouse Fire & Ice Invitational.

  • The Jets had players on the team from Michigan, Ontario, Quebec, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

  • The Jets came in third place in the USSSA Great Lakes Elite and in the USSSA Great Lakes Challenge.

  • The Jets went 3-0 in the Genesee Fieldhouse Fire & Ice Invitational and won it.

  • The Jets went 3-0 in the Arsenal Invitational and won it.

  • The Jets went 5-0-1 in the USSSA State Tournament and won it.

  • The Jets went 6-0 in the USSSA Diamond Classic and won it.

  • The Jets went 6-0 in the USSSA Midwest Elite and won it.

  • The Jets went 6-0-1 in the Triple Crown Sports Great Lakes Spectacular and won it. They came in first place out of 28 teams.

  • The Jets went 5-0 in the Joel Zito Invitational and won it.

  • The Jets went 4-1 in the USSSA Great Lakes Elite and came in third place out of 20 teams.

  • The Jets defeated teams from Michigan, Ohio, Ontario, and Kentucky.

  • The Jets allowed only allowed a total of three runs in the Joel Zito Invitational while scoring 37.

  • The Jets tied for 25th place out of 74 teams at the Cincy Flames Dinger Wood Bat World Series.

  • The Jets defeated Midland Berryhill, a team that has won the American Legion World Series in the past. Midland Berryhill is also the 2014 Michigan American Legion State Champion. Berryhill also won the Ultimate Strike Zone.

  • The Jets won their pool at the USSSA Great Lakes Elite.

  • The Jets won their pool at the USSSA Midwest Elite.

  • The Jets won their pool at the USSSA Diamond Classic.

  • The Jets won their pool at the Triple Crown Sports Great Lakes Spectacular.

  • The Jets won their pool at the Arsenal Invitational.

  • The Jets won their pool at the Genesee Fieldhouse Fire & Ice Invitational.

  • The Jets won their pool at the Joel Zito Invitational.

  • The Jets went 24-4 in USSSA tournaments.

  • The Jets allowed no more than thirteen total runs in any of the six USSSA tournaments that they played in.

  • The Jets outscored their opponents 62-10 in the USSSA Midwest Elite.

  • The Jets were the #2 ranked AAA team in Michigan in Points by USSSA.com out of 50 teams.

  • The Jets were the #1 rated team out of 48 teams in Michigan by USSSA.com in Power Rating.

  • The Jets scored 441 runs this season.

  • The Jets averaged scoring 7.875 runs a game.

  • The Jets only allowed 139 runs in 56 games.

  • The Jets only allowed 2.48214 runs per game in 56 games.

  • The Jets outscored their opponents by almost 5.5 runs per game.

  • The Jets had an eleven game winning streak, a ten game winning streak, an eight game winning streak, a six game winning streak, and a five game winning streak – all in the same season!

  • The Jets got to play fourteen games on college fields! These included Miami (OH) University, Eastern Michigan University, Thomas More College, Northwood University, Central Michigan University, Cedarville University, etc.

  • The Jets mercied the Great Lake Canadians, a team with multiple members of the Canadian Junior National Team.

  • The Jets had a winning record in nine of the eleven tournaments that they entered.

  • The Jets outscored their opponents 441-139 over the course of the season.

  • The Jets outscored their opponents by 302 runs over the course of the season.

  • The Jets beat the Detroit Eagles three times (including mercying them twice). The Eagles have won multiple RBI Regionals and placed well in the RBI World Series in the past.

  • The Jets beat the Great Lake Canadians by seven more runs than the nationally-renowned Midland Redskins did.

  • The Jets scored eleven more runs against the Great Lake Canadians than the nationally-renowned Midland Redskins did.

  • The Jets only allowed one home run in 56 games.
