Montgomery Girls Softball League

Now in its 16th year, the Montgomery Girls Softball League was founded with the mission to help develop the character and self-esteem of girls and young women through athletic competition. The League is fully volunteer-run and is committed to providing the opportunity for girls in the Montgomery Township, Rocky Hill, and surrounding  communities to play fastpitch softball, regardless of skill or prior experience.

Since the League’s founding in the Fall of 2001, thousands of young ladies have participated in our programs. Each year the League fields recreational teams for girls in Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Our Travel teams continue to compete at the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U levels.

Our recreational league includes:

CUBS for girls in Pre K, K and 1st with no prior playing experience
Minor League for for girls in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.
Junior League for girls in the 3rd and 4th grades.
Senior League for girls in 5th and 6th grades.
Major League for girls in grades 7th and 8th grades
High School for girls in 9th thru 12th grades.

In addition, the recreational league runs numerous clinics and a Fall Ball program that is focused on fundamentals and skill building.

The League’s travel program, the Montgomery Mavericks, fields teams at the 8-and-under, 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under, 16-and-under age brackets, and 18-and-under teams throughout it's 17 year history. The Mavericks are one of the oldest and most successful programs in the state, with numerous travel league and tournament championships at the regional and state level.  Additional information about the Mavericks can be found at www.montgomerymavericks.com.

Our recreation season begins in April and concludes with Championship Weekend in June. Games are played in beautiful Montgomery Park, as well as some of the neighboring town parks and each girl receives a uniform for playing. Championship teams receive 1st and 2nd place trophies based on the outcome of their respective league game. Younger players all receive trophies.
