SAC Soccer Rules

 

Games Duration : Games are played with (two) 25 minute periods with a 10 minutes half time break. There is also a 1 minute water break at the 12 minute mark of each half.

 

Ball Size:  ESL will ONLY use the size 4 soccer ball for official games.

 

Team Size: Each team will field 11 players on the field unless a player or players are red carded.As per FHSAA rules games can start with at least 7 players.

 

Team Make-Up: Schools have a choice of coed teams or not, however, for coed teams there are no quota on the number of boys or girls on your team

 

Tied Games: If a game ends up in a tie at the end of regulation time it is a tied game and both teams share the points during the league games. However if its a tied play off game, both teams will play 7 minutes each half extra time. If still tied at the end of extra time then penalties.

 

Points System: 3 pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie, 0 pts for a lost 

 

Officials:Host teams are responsible for the game officials.All game officials must be FHSAA approved officials.During league play host schools can use one official, for some games two officials are recommended. For play off games two officials are required.     

 

Play offs: Top two teams in each distrct will qulaofy for the conference play offs 2023 . The seeding among the the two districts will be criss-cross e.g Number 1 seed in district 1 will play number 2 seed in district 2. The finals venue for 2023 will go to distrct 2. This will alternative each year.         

 

Field Size: Minimum approved field size will be 50yds x 80yds.

 

Rosters: All rosters must be submitted by approved deadline date. Failure to do so will result in a $60 fine and non play off appearance.

  SAC Basketball Rules 

 

Game Duration: There will be 4  6 minute quarters. No running clock unless a team is 25 points ahead in the 3rd or 4th quarters.  If score is tied at the end of regulation time there will be a 3 minute overtime period.  

 

Ball Size: The ball size for both boys and girls will be 28.5 size balls elementary basketball and 29.5 6th grade basketball.      

 

Team Size: At the start of an official game both teams must have at least 5 players. If a player(s) arrives late he or she must be officially on the team sheet before the start of the game in order to play  (they cannot be put in after the game starts)

 

Team Make Up: Girls can only play on a boys team only if the school does not have a girls team. Under no circumstances are boys allowed to play on girls teams

 

Points System: 3 points for a win 0 for a loss

 

Officials:Host teams are responsible for the game officials.All game officials must be FHSAA approved officials.During league play host schools (elementary) can use one official, for some games two officials are recommended. For play off games two officials are required. For 6th grade basketball all games require two officials.

 

Play offs: All teams will qualify for the play offs this year with elementary girls and 6th grade basketball. Only the top 6 teams qualify for the play offs with elementary basketball. Higher seed is always host/home team unless the two competing schools agree upon a different league approved venue.

 

Court Size & Play:  Not bigger than 84' x 50' ( high school ) 10' rims

  1. Defense: Any half-court defense may be played during the game.
  2. Press: Teams may full-court press only during last 2 minutes of the game. Any press is allowed.​

 

 Time Outs :   Two 60-second timeouts permitted in the first half of play.  Two 60-second timeouts permitted in the second half of play.If overtime is played, teams are awarded an extra full time out in addition to any time outs left over from the second half of regulation play.

 ESL  Flag Football Rules

 

1) 2-20 minute halves. Clock stops last minute 1st half and 2 minutes of the game 

2) 2 time outs per half (no carryover)

3) 5 yard rush except when less than half the distance

4) line to gain every 15 yards 

5) first downs 15, 30,15

6) 30 second play clock 

7) coaches on the field 

8) Field size 40 yds x 80 yds

9) Ball size - Junior size
