Suffern Little League – Softball

SOFTBALL MINORS

(Spring Only)

This is the introductory level of Softball for the girls.  The coaches build on the fundamentals learned in T-ball & T-Shirt and teach the differences between baseball and softball.

8,9, & 10 years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

SOFTBALL MAJORS

(Spring Only)

This is the most competitive level within Little League Softball.  Each Spring, the Regular Season Team with the best record represents Suffern Little League in the County Tournament of Champions. 

10, 11, & 12 years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

 

Suffern Little League – Baseball

Description

Age Group

T –BALL

(Spring Only)

At this level the players learn the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and base running.   During each scheduled game a clinic style practice is set up for both teams during the first half of the scheduled game.  The kids then play a 2-3 inning game where each child gets to bat each inning and play different positions on the field.  All hitting is done off of a tee.

4-5 years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

T – SHIRT

(Spring Only)

At this level the coaches build on the foundations set during the prior season in T-Ball.  Children get further repetitions at hitting, fielding, and throwing.  Coaches Pitch to the players on their team.

6 & 7 Years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

INTERNATIONAL

(Spring & Fall(registrations permitting)

At this level, the players start to face live pitching from another child.  Players will learn infield and outfield positions.  Players also learn how to pitch and the importance of the catcher position.  Limited base stealing occurs at this level.  At the end of the Season, all teams will participate in a season ending tournament (format dependent on number of teams.)

8 & 9 Years  old by April 30 of the Spring Season

MINORS

(Spring & Fall)

At this level, the players get their first introduction to a more competitive level of baseball where standings count and the Regular Season winner represents Suffern Little League in the Minor League Tournament of Champions.  Unlimited base stealing occurs at this level.  At the end of the Season, all teams will participate in a season ending tournament (format dependent on number of teams.)

9, 10, & 11 years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

MAJORS

(Spring & Fall)

This is the most competitive level within Little League Baseball.  Each Spring, the Regular Season Team with the best record represents Suffern Little League in the County Tournament of Champions.  Unlimited base stealing occurs at this level.  At the end of the regular Season, all teams will participate in a season ending tournament (format dependent on number of teams.)

10, 11, & 12 years old by April 30 of the Spring Season

JUNIORS

(Spring & Fall)

At this level, Players get there first experience on the "Big Field".  Pitchers pitch from 60 feet and the bases are 90 feet. 

13 & above by April 30 of the Spring Season
