Spring Training Overview

Winter Showcase Training Overview

The purpose of the workouts prepares all high school players to be game ready for their first day of practice. Players do not have to be Baseball U players to attend. All organizational players are invited to improve their skills. Too many times players try and impress their high school coaches in those early stages of practice. In doing so they injure themselves by either pulling a groin, hamstring or suffer a set back with an arm injury.

Each player will receive 8 (2 HOUR) defensive sessions totaling 16.0 hours of training. These workouts progress along at a pace that will bring the player along to have themselves in game ready shape and with that will bring a great advantage to those who have not attended such a workout that brings baseball conditioning to the highest level.

Bringing these players along to their peak performance level will be current Houston Astros Scout and Baseball U General Manager, John Wells. The founder of Baseball U organization it has been recognized as one of the top baseball programs in the northeast by USA Baseball and Perfect Game. Over 180 players have gone on to play professional baseball that has been coached by Coach Wells.

The instruction given at the workouts are second to none. Along with the weekly staff the workouts will bring in college coaches from some of the top northeast schools. These coaches are given the opportunity to work with the players at each session. When a college coach watches a game or showcase they cannot tell a players work ethic and it is often the first question asked other than how are the player’s grades. This will give each college coach a chance to find out a players work ethic and give both the player as well as the coach a hands on experience with one another.

Also instructing and evaluating will be current MLB organizational scouts. Their evaluations on players will help each player understand what they have to do to play at the next level.

In the past 4 seasons Baseball U organizational players have earned just over 4.5 million dollars to some of the top colleges in the country. The team has also had 16 players drafted in the first 3 MLB drafts. The workouts have also produced 34 All State Players and 22 First Team All Shore players at the workouts.

Dollar for Dollar Simply The Best

There is not a more productive winter workout around. For $37 an hour and over 16 hours of defensive training the amount of money spent on a player’s workout is well spent. You will not find a workout that offers what Baseball U’s workout does.

How much money do you spend on private lessons?

Do the instructors giving the lessons have current connections with colleges?

Are you able to field fly balls or ground balls as if you were outside?

Are you able to throw a baseball on a synthetic turfed field at a distance of up to 200 feet?

For $37.00 an hour you will be getting the most out of your hard earned money. Our workouts will prepare a player to be game ready and showcase themselves for 8 weeks in front of college coaches and pro scouts.

Defensive Workout Location
The defensive workout site will be the newly field turfed 180x150 Good Sports Indoor facility conveniently located a half mile off Rt18 and one mile off exit 98 on the Garden State Parkway in Wall Twp, NJ. These workouts will be held on Saturday’s as well as two Monday Holiday’s beginning in January.

Hitting Camp Showcase
This one day 3 hour hitting camp showcase will follow our Monday, February 15th, defensive work out from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at the spacious 3&2 Count hitting facility in Howell, NJ. This hitting camp will have top colleges as well as pro scouts instructing. All aspects of hitting will be covered as well at various hitting stations. Each college and pro scout in attendance will be given a player information booklet to contact players of interest. At the end of the camp a seminar will be given by the guest instructors on hitting and what it would take to play at their school.

“I personally guarantee that every player will improve their baseball skills during their time at the workouts. The staff at our spring training workouts is second to none and with the collegiate coaches in attendance it gives the player a distinct advantage to show his skills in front of them. Many programs stress winning and forget about the developmental part of the game. It is my belief that if you cover all parts of the game and work on basics that you will not have to mention winning it will happen on its own.”
- John Wells

People who write about Spring Training not being necessary have never tried to throw a baseball.
-- Sandy Koufax
