Our
cheer squads travel with their football team and perform in front of
our fans during each game. The season runs August 1- End of October. In addition to cheering for our teams , our cheer squads are
involved in a competitive cheer competition at the end of the October. Jr. Pee Wee and up have a chance to advance to Regionals in November and Nationals in December.
Cheer squad sizes are limited and are filled on a first come, first
serve basis. We do not hold tryouts. To guarantee a place on a squad we
strongly suggest signing up early. Our cheerleading squads are an
essential part of our football program. All girls and boys are welcome. Cheer squad participants are the same age as the football team with which they are associated with (if available). Divisions by Age: Tiny Mite = 5 & 6 year olds Mighty Mite = 7 thru 9 years old Junior Pee Wee = 8 thru 10 year olds Pee Wee = 9 thru 12 year olds Junior Midget = 10 thru 13 year olds Midget = 11 thru 15 year olds
* League age is determined based on actual age as of July 31st.
Step 1 - Register your child for cheer. There are a couple of on-site registrations in the area that usually occur in April-June. Online registration is also available but your child will still need to attend an in-person registration for uniform fitting.
Step 2 - Build cheer squads. Board members will look at prior experience and location to assign cheerleaders to squads. (If a child cannot be placed in the desired division/school area, then parents can request a refund.)
Step 3 -Get your paperwork together which includes copy of last year's report card, a Pop Warner physical form, Pop Warner Concussion Form, Pop Warner Parent/Player Contract, and a copy of birth certificate. You will need this in order to receive the uniform and begin practices. Turn in paperwork at gear handout or 1st practice.
Step 4 - Meet the cheer coach and pick up uniform. This occurs in late July.
Step 5 - Cheer practice begins 2nd week of August. Jamboree is August 28
Step 7 - Mid Season Cheer Exhibition in late September
Step 8 - League Cheer Competition end of October. Depending on placement for Jr. Pee Wee and above, additional regional/national competitions may occur in November and December.
Step 9 - Return Cheer Skirt and Uniform Top to coach.
