Tryout Details:
You must come prepared to tryouts.  Be fully dressed for soccer play (wearing shin guards and approved soccer cleats), appropriate shorts and shirt.  Wearing a prior team jersey is not allowed.  Bring  your own water and your own ball.  Please remember to mark your ball with your last name on it.  Teams will be selected after the final tryout date.

Each team will hold its own meeting.  That meeting time is chosen by the team coach.  Registration and team fees will be done at that time for only those players selected.  Team fees are typically for tournaments, equipment, camps and trainers.  Team and uniform fees are not refundable. Club registration fees are in addition to team fees and uniform costs. See registration page for Club registration fees.

IMPORTANT PARENT INFO: Do not just drop off your child! Tryout medical release and insurance forms must be signed by parent or legal guardian at the site or your child will not participate. Look for tables and signs for each age group at each of the four fields at Carnegie indicating your age group field.

The fields at Carnegie start up front next to the parking lot area to the left side of the school with

Field 1 for U-12 players,
Field 2 for U-14 players
Field 3 for U-16 players
Field 4 for U-19 players.

A table will be set up at Orangevale Open' field  for the U-10's as well.    Note: No Restrooms are available at Carnegie or Orangevale Open.

What is Select Soccer all about?
Select soccer is for the "experienced" and dedicated player who is willing to commit extra time to practice and a much longer season (32 games vs. 10 games for Recreation team schedule) which may include traveling away from this area to play games in an expanded league area as well as traveling to weekend tournaments as arranged by the team coach. Practices begin in June and weekend tournament play begins in August. Please plan your vacations accordingly to avoid your player missing tournaments in August!

Tournament Play begins in August.
League Play begins in September and ends mid November.
District Cup play in early December
Association Cup plays in January

Players must tryout and be invited to join a select team.  Each team averages 16 players except U10 which will have fewer. We usually have 2 boys and girls teams per age grouping. You must participate in a minimum of two tryouts to be considered for selection to a FOSC Select Class III team, you are encouraged to attend them all.

Select players must also be registered with the Fair Oaks Soccer Club. If you are selected for a Division III team, your team coach will provide the registration forms and collect a copy of the birth certificate along with you registration fee for FOSC at the April team meeting. If for some reason you have not registered with FOSC for the 2009 soccer club season by the end of April 2009, please see our Registration information page.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
Questions on Select Soccer can be directed to the Select Program Manager, Mark Mayes (mark.mayes@sbcglobal.net)

NOTES:

Registration for select players can be done by coaches after tryouts are complete.

Any player who did not play in the California Youth Soccer League North last year must be fully registered at the tryouts prior to taking the field.

Based on League rules, no player may be assured or offered a place on a team until all tryouts by said team have been completed. Registration for the FOSC will still be open at the end of tryouts.
