Establishing Teams
How do we pick teams?
The intramural program’s mission is to have equal teams with equal playing time. If every game ends 20-19 our mission is accomplished.
• Starting with 2nd grade and above , teams are created by draft.
• When conducting a draft, coaches receive player ratings from previous years.
• The order of draft is selected from a hat prior to the draft.
• Coaches children are ‘slotted’ (all coaches must agree) and the draft starts in order.
• Any ‘travel’ players are highlighted in bold so all coaches know who those players are.
• No intramural teams are set up prior to the draft. No player requests are honored unless it is a must. Ie.. single parent needing carpooling..Keeping twins together..etc
• If your childs' team turns out to be weak it’s purely coincidental. No Super teams have been created.
• We are trying our best to make all the teams competitive which makes it more fun for everyone.
