GAC Germantown Titans Mission Statement
Titans Select Program:
The Germantown Athletic Club (GAC) Germantown Titans Select Fast Pitch Softball program offers young women age nine to eighteen the opportunity to play the game of fast pitch softball at some of the most competitive levels found in the state of Maryland. Intended for those who have mastered the basic skills of fast pitch, the program provides an opportunity to learn and master advanced skills and game strategies. The Select Fast Pitch program is designed to grant competitors the best playing environment in Montgomery County.
Titans Coaches:
The GAC Germantown Titans coaching staff is hand selected, combining leaders with both experience and skill at all levels of fast pitch softball. The coaching staff is dedicated to teaching the skills of softball with a focus on providing the building blocks required to be successful in high school fast pitch softball programs and beyond. The coaches strive to teach the skills of the game with a positive attitude, and emphasize the concepts of good sportsmanship, fair play, and winning and losing graciously. The Titans Select Fast Pitch program is designed to provide players with the opportunity to learn valuable concepts and apply them to all aspects of life. While being a great softball player is the ultimate goal for these competitors, being a great person is as equally important.
Titans Organization:
The Titans Select Fast Pitch program has been developed over the last three years. Continually looking to improve, the organization leverages best practices from local and regional programs, incorporating them into the Titans program. In addition, the Titans Select Fast Pitch program is dependent upon the success of the GAC Fast Pitch Recreation League. To ensure its success, the Titans dedicate time, talent and resources to create the best recreation in-house league in Montgomery County. Players from the Select Fast Pitch program train, speak, and workout with players from the recreation league, offering them first-hand insight into fast pitch softball.
Titans Players:
The Titans organization expects competitors to carry themselves with the highest esteem, class, and dignity. Although the end goal is to build successful teams, the Titans organization firmly believes that what comes from "within" is equally important. The Titans pride themselves on creating positive experiences, and want all competitors to enjoy the attributes offered and have fun playing and learning the art of fast pitch softball.
Titans Training:
The Titans organization provides year round training facilities for all age groups and teams. Year round training allows players to increase their skills and utilize the building blocks needed to improve quickly and stay in shape during the off season. A variety of technologies are also available, including Right View Pro® software and videotaping to assist players in their development.
The organization also provides professional outside training consultants, coaching, and playing at the highest level. Working closely with all upper county high schools and their coaching staffs, the Titans provide support and training when requested.
