If you have any questions, first check to see if your question is answered here.
If not, contact your child's coach. If you cannot get a satisfactory answer from the coach, contact the appropriate Age Group Coordinator. Click on the "Soccer Programs" link at the left to determine who the Age Group Coordinator is for your child.

Q.I see things like "U6" or "U15" on the web site. What does that mean?
A.The "U" means "under." For example, U6 means under six years of age as of the previous July 31st.

Q.What determines if my child plays in the recreation program or the travel program?
A.We offer the recreation program (in town, intramural) for U10 and below. U11 and above play on travel teams.

Q.How long can my child continue to play travel soccer?
A.Players can continue to play travel soccer as long as we have enough players interested to field a team.

Q.What days are the games played?
A.Recreation program games are played on Saturday morning. Girls Travel games are primarily on Saturday afternoons for U11-U14 with the U15+ games played on Sunday. Boys Travel games are on Sunday afternoons.

Q.Where are games played?
A.For the recreation program: U6 through U9 are played at Ella Harris Park. U10 plays at the William Wilt Soccer Complex. For the travel program: home games are played at the William Wilt Soccer Complex.

Q.When and where do teams practice?
A.Team practices are set by the coaches. Your child's coach will contact you with practice location and times.

Q.Can my child play with their friend or with their previous coach?
A.We have more than 1000 children in our club and as such, it is impossible to accommodate everyone's special requests. We concentrate on creating balanced teams and usually cannot guarantee that your child will be placed with their friend or a specific coach.

Q.If my child plays travel soccer, how often and how far will we have to travel for games?
A.Generally speaking, teams play 5 games at home and 5 games away. The distance that you travel to the away games depends on the conference in which your team plays. Most teams are less than a hour away but can be as far north as Princeton, as far south as Cape May and as far east as teams along the shore, such as Ocean City.

Q.When are the registrations held?
A.Registration for the Fall season begins in March/April. Registrations are accepted via our online registration system on our web site.

Q.What if I'm not comfortable registering online?
A.We strongly recommend that you register online. If you are uncomfortable paying online, you can still register online and mail a check to the club. Mail-in forms are also available on our web site if you do not have access to a computer for online registration. Return the form with your remittance to the address given on the top of the form.

Q.What is the refund policy?
A.There will be no refunds issued unless the Club is unable to place the child on a team.

Q.How do I know what team my child will play on?
A.Typically in May, HSC holds travel tryouts to determine where players will be placed the following year. Players are ranked and placed on a team by a selection committee. The coaches will notify their players in June.

Q.Do I have to have experience to coach?
A.You do not have to have experience to coach. Most of our coaches started with no experience! What you do need is a willingness to learn the game and continuously improve your coaching ability. We will help by providing licensing courses, guidance to information sources available through print and the internet, and will be happy to help you in any other way possible. We also have volunteer coaching development coordinators that will work with you and your team as needed. As a volunteer coach you are one of the most important factors in the success of our program.

Q.How can I join the board?
A.We continually search for parents interested in creating the fun soccer atmosphere. Since we are all volunteers, the more help we have, the easier it is on everyone. Our Monthly Club Meetings are open to the public. We encourage you to come and learn more about the club. Those parents that show an interest in helping where/when needed and attending club meetings may be asked to join the board.

Q.When are the HSC regular monthly meetings held?
A.Meetings are typically held on the 4th Thursday of every month. See the calendar page on our web site for the up to date, time and place of our next meeting.
