The game of baseball is widely believed to be the most difficult sport in which to maintain consistent excellence. But upon taking over the program in 2005, the new coaching staff set out to to create a program that would be a consistent winner with an expectation of playing for a state championship each year.
In the third year, the Tigers compiled a record of 27-5 and took third in the state tournament. Since then, they have maintained their winning ways. Although they've reached the state tournament just once in the past six years, they have been one game away on four other occasions, and are now regarded as consistently tough competition by their peers.
