Your Questions Answered...

Does MSA conduct back ground checks on their coaches?

Risk Management Forms for Coaches, Managers, Referees and other Volunteers
MSA and its parent organization, NTSSA, have required all coaches, managers, adult referees and other volunteers to fill-out the Volunteer Application form, commonly referred to as the Risk Management Form, which was used to check the background on our volunteers to protect the children from exposure to unsavory characters. We now have a better method of doing this with an ONLINE form---which makes it easier to use, avoids the existence of paper containing any confidential information which had to flow through the MSA office, allows the clearance determination to be obtained immediately by the volunteer. ALL COACHES, MANAGERS, AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUESTED TO COMPLETE THIS FORM PRIOR TO REGISTRATION EACH FALL.

~How does my child get on a team?
After registration, all players are placed within their age group, then seperated by middle school area so they will go to a team with players from their area. Players are then picked from a blind pool by the coach and commissioner for each team and the coach will contact the player soon after the July 25th Pool Draw.

~When would practices and games start?
Practices will start in late July and games will start August 22nd.

~When and where would the practices be?
The coach will set up the practice days, times and locations.

~When and where would the games be?
Games are located at Eastfield Soccer Complex or Bruton Soccer Complex.
Most games are on Saturdays, with some games on Sundays. Under-9 and above may have some weeknight games.

~How much are the uniforms?
Each coach picks out their team's uniforms and will take care of the pricing and ordering of the uniforms.

~How much play time will my child get?
Each player is required to receive 50% play time of each game, including tournament and play off games.

~How do I file a complaint on my child's coach?
Contact the Sgt. At Arms to file a formal complaint.

~What is a sponsorship?
MSA has a sponsorship program for the players that cannot afford to pay the registration fee. Just complete the sponsorchip form located on the "Forms" page and turn it in with $20 for approval. Not all applications are approved.

Does my child get a trophy?
Players U-5 thru U-8 get participation trophies each season. For U-9 and above, both placement and participation trophies are awarded.
