    Conference Champs!
Congrats to the Varsity team for winning the National Conference Championship by beating Buena for the second time this season 14-6. The Cardinals played very well on both sides of the ball and were not going to be denied. I am very proud of my team..Go Cards!

    Conference Championship Game October 31st
    October 31, 2009 - 02:30 PM --   Buena @ Northfield Cardinals

    Egg Harbor City game
The Egg Harbor City game was a lot tougher then we anticipated, they came to play and they gave a great effort. Thanks to a nice touch down by Colin Roche we were able to come out with a 7 to 0 victory. It was a good lesson learned by our players that you can not take any team lightly. We finished the regular season with a 6 and 1 record. Cardinals Players and parents get ready for a fun post season, seeya at the field.

    Absecon Game
What great game in sloppy conditions. The 6 to 0 score does not indicate how hard we played. The defense played tough all day earning their second consecutive shut out. The offense kept plugging away until a great breakaway run by Colin. With the victory the Varsity won their division . Great job guys lets keep it going.

    Linwood game
Saturday nights game against Linwood was such a big win for our program. If we beat Absecon we will win the division and play in the conference championship. We have come along way since the Brigantine loss and we are only getting better. I am very proud of this team and the support we have received at each game. Our town always represents and travels well to other venues. thanks for the support and we will continue to build our great program.

    Somers Point Game
October 3, 2009  --   The Somers Point game was a good win against a division rival. The kids did a good job and seemed to have a good time. Now its time to get ready for the Panthers

Scrimmage at Galloway on Tuesday Oct. 6th
October 6, 2009 - 06:00 PM --   There is a scrimmage scheduled at Galloway on Tuesday Oct. 6th at 6PM. Players are to be at Galloway at 530.

September 27, 2009  --   The Northfield Cardinals defeated the MaysLanding Lakers and put themselves in a good position to springboard through the season. The team played a very tough team that has given us trouble for the last few years. They won a great game 12-6 and gave the hometown crowd something to be very proud of. Please follow the team to SomersPoint next week for some Shark over rice! Go Cardinals!

    Buena Game
September 19, 2009  --   The Northfield Varsity defeated the Buena Braves 19-6. The game was very tough and fought in the trenches, our team came through and beat a very physical Buena team. Congrats to the team for winning a very tough team.

    Tuesday and Thursday practice
Practices on Tuesday and Thursday will be from 5pm until 730pm due to classroom study in the softball building.

    2009 Season
Welcome to the Northfield Cardinals Varsity! This season practice equipment will be issued on Wednesday August 5th at 6pm. Practice will start on Monday August 10th at 5:15 and end at 7pm. Players need to be at the field at 5pm sharp. During the first week of practice players are required to wear helmets, shoulder pads, and practice shirts. Practices will be conducted Monday thru Friday for the first three weeks and go down to 4 days a week starting week four with Monday being the off day. If there is a chance that practice may be cancelled due to inclement weather, this website should be checked between 4 and 4:30pm.

The season starts on Saturday September 5th. This season varsity games start at 7pm on Saturday nights and at 1:00pm on Sundays. B games will be played on Sundays at 1230. The B game schedule will be posted as it is put together. During B games all players that played saturday nights are required to be on the sidelines cheering on their teammates. All B game players are required to be at the Saturday night games to be eligible to play in the B games.

All positions are open for competition throughout the season. No players will win positions based on who their parents are or because their parent is a coach. As commissioner if that happens, that coach will be dismissed.

Parents are not permitted to enter the playing field during practices or games unless it is an emergency. Parents can discuss any other issues prior to or after the practice or game has ended.

This season all players will be issued a pair of black game socks to be worn only on game days.

There is going to be a mandatory raffle conducted this season to keep the sign up fee from rising and also because of the rising cost of football equipment. Players are responsible to sell 10 tickets at 5 dollars each. Parents can opt out of the fundraiser for 25 dollars. Players will not be issued game uniforms until this requirement is met.

All parents are required to help out with the snack bar and should touch base with Lori Kent for the snack bar schedule.

I really appreciate all the help that you provide the program and for the opportunity to teach your child this great sport and to get them ready for High School. Northfield football players are always the best prepared players and excel at the next level.

    Thank You, Kirk Marks
