Cameron Burrell finished 4th in the 100 and Long Jump at USATF Jr. Nationals. He beat the Texas 5A State 100 meter champs from 2011 & 2012. He'll go to Barcelona, Spain with the USA 4x100 relay team to the World Junior Champs.
Girl’s track will start after school practice on Jan. 14, 2013. Please make sure you have a current physical on file. If you need more information please see Coach Sanders in F127.
After he screamed across line – and we do mean “screamed,” as he began a yell of exultation probably 15 meters from the finish – Cameron Burrell decelerated into the pads at the end of the straight and then bounced back, skipping sideways as he turned and looked upward at the scoreboard.
He already knew he had executed a near-perfect 60 in the final of the event this past Sunday night at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle. He was pretty sure he had won, beating four other guys – three with new personal bests exceeding his own from the second semifinal. And he knew he had run fast. The question was how fast? ...
Congratulations to Cameron Burrell for his 1st place finish in the PR Brooks Invitational 60m race. This race was by invitation only and was the best of the best across the US. Cameron broke the old meet record with his time of 6.61 seconds, and was only .03 away from setting a new all time national record. Ridge Point is proud of you and your accomplishment.
The boys track team competed this weekend at the annual Victor Lopez Classic at Rice University. They came in 5th overall with a team score of 48 and are coached by Aaron Macik.

Cameron set a new personal best time of 10.34 seconds in the process. Cameron’s accomplishment was the perfect way to wrap up a very successful inaugural season for Ridge Point High School Track and Field. It was a season that saw the Freshmen Team crown 4 District Champions on their way to completing a season where they brought home the team title at every meet they went to. At the varsity level, the Panthers were able to send 2 competitors to Regionals which included Shot Putter Josh Burrell who is only a freshman.
