What is PSS .... and what do we do?
PRINCETON SPECIAL SPORTS … for special kids

Princeton Special Sports, Inc. is a not-for-profit, entirely volunteer, organization created to provide special needs children with the opportunity to play youth sports in an environment tailored to their needs and abilities.

PSS players come to us with a range of special needs and challenges. Some have physical disabilities, such as difficulty walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, or managing their physical movements. Others have cognitive or attention-related issues. Many of our players have been diagnosed with Down syndrome or fall within the spectrum of Autism/PDD disorders.

At PSS, our coaches and other volunteers work with each child as an individual. Our only goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for our players to experience the sense of individual accomplishment and the benefits of being part of a team that are intrinsic to participating in youth sports. We play baseball in the spring, soccer in the fall, and basketball in the winter. Our programs are open to children ages 4 to through high school from all area communities.

As much as possible, we pair every player with his or her own Buddy. Our Buddies are the most important part of making PSS sports a great experience for our players. We screen and select our Buddies very carefully.
